TSB planned outage

I'm lucky. Like many people on here, I have multiple current accounts with several banks. But less affluent people may not have this luxury.
Having more than one current account is not really a 'luxury' and you don't need to be especially affluent to have more than one.
About the only people who might really struggle to get more than one account are those in such deep financial problems that a basic account is the only option - but for them the financial issues they face are far greater than whether or not they are able to access online banking over a forewarned weekend.
Unless TSB have really fouled up then DD's and SO's should still be going out as normal, and anyone going overdrawn or being charged by others for a payment not being made due to the outage will no doubt be reimbursed any costs and probably have compensation on top."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
I think that this is a complete lack of accurate forward estimation by TSB, in terms of time needed to carry out the business of what is a very work-intensive operation. The hugely complex work, should have been studied in much more detail beforehand. Meanwhile I am locked out of my accounts and unable to do anything about it.
If TSB had told customers that the systems would be out Friday 4pm until Monday 4pm there would have been an outcry, so the planners need to balance giving themselves enough time plus contingency, without overestimating the requirement to the point it causes the same level of annoyance to customers that an overrun has.
Rail engineering has a similar problem - do you tell customers there will be no trains on Monday so they all make (unnecessary) alternative arrangements, or do say the work will finish Sunday night so customers can make their own mind up whether to risk some inconvenience on Monday morning? When it all does come online, expect a huge crash as the site goes down again. That will not be foreseen either, of course."In the future, everyone will be rich for 15 minutes"0 -
I can't get logged online but can use the app.
What I can't do is set up fingerprint ID on my new phone but I can wait. Seems that the move has been a difficult one, even the staff at my local branch were having troubles with their system.0 -

Have been converted to the "budget to zero" concept and use YNAB for all monthly budgeting and long term goals.0 -
Credit card only has access to current month transactions. The (only) 2 old statements that are listed cannot be accessed. Random bracket in account headings. The drop down "view another account" box links [STRIKE]don't all[/STRIKE] doesn't work. On the positive side all my accounts accurately reflect the balances.
All in all a complete balls up.0 -

I'm away on holiday this week, I've no idea of my login details so I won't be accessing TSB for another week. They should've sorted it by then.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

"Credit card only has access to current month transactions."
"My available balance is wrong as my pending transactions have disappeared"
But to look on the positive side, at least you were both able to login. I've never been able to do that since the outage started.0 -

Shows telephone banking is available, not tried it. Be prepared for a long wait though...0 -
