  • Thanks DD and Joey - am feeling better in myself but am really tired today. The dog just wouldn't settle last night and I felt like I was awake for half of the night - nothing worse than constantly broken sleep.
Had a full on day at work followed by a training hour and a half. Could have done without that but got through it.....

Have spent some of the evening watching the last two episodes of the OJ Simpson trial mini series - would highly recommend it on Netflix - I think I'm well behind everyone else with it but better late than never ;)
OH is away with work this evening and staying overnight so I'm left to my own devices and have had a nice tea, a walk with the dog and a soak in the bath and a bit of telly. No work tonight - didn't stop all day so having a rest.

We're going to a posh black tie dinner on Friday evening - not really my thing but he's asked me to go to support him so duty calls . I'm sure it will be ok once I'm there and it's a reason to dress up if nothing else. I have a couple of suitable evening dresses - will try them on tomorrow evening to see which one I look least fat in.
One weird side effect of tamoxifen is that you get big unexplained bruises, mostly on your arms or legs, and I have 6 on my legs at the moment (did a count in the bath earlier) so the dress will have to be a long one - I'm not very glam at the moment.....
I've made a hair appointment for Saturday 1st Dec - it needs a good trim and for someone else to do the colour properly. Will perk me up a bit.

Tomorrow looks ok on paper and I'll hopefully be able to leave on time - I'd like to take some things back to the shops on the way home if possible and then do some exercise after walking the dog.
All of the best intentions :)
  • I wouldn't be surprised if you're a bit run down - you're always on the go, and you must be shattered... Plus you have your meds etc which will be affecting you in some way. No harm in a few supplements though. :D
We cross posted! Great minds think alike ;)
  • A bit better sleep last night - the dog was still up and down a bit but an improvement.
Just back from our morning walk - it's cold today!

Today's plan is to get to work, get a meeting over with, have the majority of the morning in my office getting stuff done and then the afternoon teaching, hopefully followed by a swift departure and a trip to the shops on the way home......
  • A pretty good day really - got quite a bit of work done and lessons and meetings went well.
Managed to leave quite sharpish and dropped in at the shopping centre on the way home to take back a dress I bought on the weekend for a refund. Better in my account than theirs ;) That's actually good for me - I'm hopeless at taking things back and end up with things I don't like or want.

Got home and took the dog for a big long walk for some proper exercise rather than pottering around the park - 45 mins done and up to 13000 steps for today :)
Called in at the doctors on the way to collect my prescription so that's one less thing to worry about.
Have since cooked a proper tea, cleaned the wooden floors and kitchen and marked two sets of tests that took less time than I thought they would.

Have also tried on my evening dresses for Friday and two are ok - they actually make me look fairly slim. They're both full length - one is black and the other is a pewter colour - will decide on the night which one to go for depending on my mood. Also cleaned my strappy high heels so they're all ready to go too, dug out the right underwear, and found a cashmere wrap for getting there and back in this flipping arctic weather ..... Just need to iron it tomorrow.

Just had a little soak in the bath and moisturised my skin and cleansed and toned my face and slapped a load of face cream on. Need to spruce myself up.....

Going to potter around a bit and watch some telly then try for an early night - I'm all ready for tomorrow, lunch sorted and clothes put out, so have nothing left to worry about :)
  • Another good day at work - got lots done and managed to leave at a respectable time.
Have done a big dog walk, ironed a few things, got stuff ready for tomorrow and cleaned the house since being home.
Going to see OH tonight and will probably stay over so need to be organised for the morning as I'll get back at about 5.30 am and then do the usual dog walk and morning stuff and leave by 6.40.

Feel quite organised at the moment at work and home - makes me wonder whether I've forgotten something big..... ;)

Hi, hope you are ok MT?. It’s not like you to miss posting at the weekend. Take care, x
  • Hi Tiggger! I'm fine thanks.
Had a really busy weekend so far. Went to the black tie charity do on Friday night and even though I wasn't looking forward to it we had a really good time. OH even danced - unheard of!! Think we left about 2am - both a bit blurry on the details by then ;)
Had a lie in with OH yesterday then pottered around doing a few jobs but was feeling the after effects of too much of a good time.....we then spent all afternoon and evening watching rugby and eating the nice dinner that OH cooked, followed by an early night.
Feel back to normal today, apart from the sore throat and beginnings of a cold that I've developed. Have done all of the domestic stuff this morning - taken the dog to the park for a good walk, grocery shopping at tesco, cleaned the house from top to bottom, two loads of washing, changed the bed and had a good tidy up. Normal service is resumed.... :)

Bought some extra supplements - vitamin c, menopause vitamins, and glucosamine this morning to try to perk me up a bit. Getting older is no fun :(. The good news is that I appear to have lost a bit of weight - I'm less bloated and things seem to fit a bit better. I have done more exercise this week and eaten better, cooking things rather than eating the easiest thing to hand. I've bought lots of nice fresh food for the coming week to keep me on track.

Just waiting for lunch to cook then it's a soak in the bath and a bit of grooming followed by a little bit of work and another big dog walk for some fresh air for the both of us.

OH is playing golf - might see him later, we'll see how things go. He's trying again now and has apologised for his misdemeanour - we'll see how long it lasts.
  • Had a quiet afternoon, just pottering around, doing a few bits and pieces in the house and took the dog for a walk. He seems very tired today and didn't want to go far - hopefully it's just a busy weekend for him and he'll feel better after a good sleep.
Have started watching the new series of The Sinner on Netflix - it's very good so far. Also listening to John Grisham's new book called The Reckoning whilst walking the dog, interesting and very long..... Got my money's worth with that one!

All ready for work tomorrow - clothes sorted and lunch made. It's quite a busy week coming up with a parents evening on Thursday. Going to watch a bit of telly and try for an early night in nice clean sheets- lovely.....
  • The cold has really taken a grip and I'm streaming - work wasn't fun today....
Made it through the day though and have walked the dog and had soup and dumplings for tea to try to make me feel better. Am drugged up to the eyeballs but it's not working :(
Had a bath and am going to watch done telly and go to bed early. Fingers crossed it's eased off tomorrow ......
  • Just done some banking making sure I've transferred all the money for the recent Xmas and clothes shopping. All sorted now. Need to pay the balance of the sofas tomorrow to make sure that they're delivered the weekend after next.

Just been looking at the cash that will be left in the current account after the bills and direct debits etc have gone out - there's enough to last until payday if I'm careful. I've spent a lot this month and paid off a lot of things and I want to leave money in the contingency account if possible and definitely not use the credit card or overdraft or touch savings.
I need two weeks of groceries but I'm going to try to use up what's in before buying a lot more.
The night out with work scheduled for this Friday has been postponed, which is good as it would be an expensive one, with a night out on the town, taxis, food etc.
I having my hair sorted on Saturday but that's been budgeted for and there are no other big events before the next pay day. I even managed to do my additional hours claim today for lunch duties - it's about another £100 a month after tax so worth making the effort to claim for. It will get paid in the next salary.

I'm thinking about taking a top back too - only about £20 but I don't think I'm going to wear it so it should go back. I'll try to pop in to the shops on the way home one night this week.
Going to aim for a frugal week - 4 more days until the weekend.....
