  • Another busy day at work - is there any other kind ?
But I did manage to mark a full set of mock exam papers and finish the last set too (even if I did have to finish them off at home tonight). Had an hour and a half long full staff Meeting after work too so a long day....
Didn't sleep very well last, the dog was restless and I had a lot on my mind and when I did sleep I had odd dreams. Hopefully it won't be the same tonight, am tired and have a lot to do tomorrow.

I don't know how you do it all MT! I hope you can have a bit of a break this weekend?

Thanks DD - it sometimes feels like I'll meet myself coming back some days :)

Long busy day at work but the head gave me permission to leave at 5pm instead of 5.45 (INSET twilight training, the worst kind after a day's work) to take the dog to the vet. He was up all night with what I thought was an ear infection, but the vet just thinks it's a build up of wax that's irritating him and he can't see an infection. We washed his ear out and I've got stuff to do it at home - that will be fun as he hates it..... £44 later we're back home now after a walk. The vet also checked out various lumps and bumps he has and thinks they're just fatty lumps but is reticent to do anything about them because of his age (he's nearly 15) and his Cushing's syndrome if they're not bothering him. That's a bit of a relief as I don't think he'd withstand an operation at his age. He did say he thought he might be slightly senile though - at least he's a happy little senile dog in his own little world - he eats well, likes going for walks and is still very interested in life so we'll just plod on for now. :)

No big plans for tonight - need a rest. Literally one or two hours of sleep last night and I'm feeling it now.
Never mind tomorrow is another day......

Slightly better day at work today - meetings and teaching and managed to leave at 3.30 ish - good after two late evenings at work. Walked the dog in the rain and had a really lazy but yummy tea of fish finger sandwiches - just couldn't be bothered with cooking tonight.

Have had a tidy round, sorted the bins and had a soak in the bath whilst listening to the latest audiobook followed by a bit of preening and moisturising. I'm still ploughing through the multitude of body lotions I seem to have accrued - just finished an Issey Mikake one and smell all fragrant now :) , just 6 or 7 to go........

I had hoped to see OH tonight but he's "tired" - think he's in a bit of a mood with life this week - nothing I've done but he's better left to his own devices when he's like that.

I'm a bit bored really - I'm trying not to work too much at home and have more of a life but I'm struggling to think of things to do in the dark nights. There's only so much reading and Netflix you can stand when you're a "doing" sort of person.
I need a hobby....... I used to spend loads of time out with the dog but he's a little old man now and long walks and days out together aren't possible anymore. Love him to bits though and wouldn't be without him.
  • You sound like you have a bit of the guilt of not doing things when you 'should be'... hope you find something relaxing yet entertaining. I love my crochet for that, and also a bit of reading.
And I adore a fishfinger sandwich now and again.

Thanks Cat - I've just never been able to sit still, even as a child I was always fiddling with things and, as a teenager, up early and on the go - no staying in bed until lunchtime for me ;)

What about taking up something like knitting or crochet MT? It might be a nice balance between relaxing and doing.

I started knitting when I couldn't find any cushions that I liked. Admittedly I don't do it often and I can only do the most basic things but mostly that's because I can't practise very well with our young cats. :rotfl:

Thanks DD - I'm absolutely hopeless at anything practical or crafty. I didn't inherit that gene! I'd love to be more creative but even cooking anything more than basic food eludes me :)

Manic day at work - literally didn't stop from 7am to 4.30, not even for lunch. Solved lots of issues for people though so felt pretty useful, a nice change.
Came home took the dog to the park, did a little bit of work, had tea and then decided to try the dog on another walk as he seemed quite frisky. Another 2 miles done - he's tired now but enjoyed his extra walk. Gave me something to do for a while too - have since had a bath, contacted some old friends and tidied the house, made a packed lunch and got my clothes ready for tomorrow.

Just thinking about what to do this weekend and have discovered 6 free cinema tickets sent to me from the bank - will have a look into what's on at the moment. Also have a longstanding hair appointment booked for Saturday lunchtime. Might go to running club on Sunday morning if it's not raining - haven't been for ages and miss the camaraderie . Need to make more of an effort.....

Can thoroughly recommend A Star is Born, and Bohemian Rhapsody if you haven't seen any of them yet. :D

Thank you Little Miss, I looked at the reviews for them both and also Widows. All look good. Will definitely go to see something this weekend.

Thankfully it's Friday!! Had a really busy day at work and was knackered by the time I got home but took the dog to the park, had a 15 minute unintentional snooze on the sofa and then cracked on with cleaning the house and sorting things out. Have hoovered and dusted everything, changed the bed, done two loads of washing, cleaned the kitchen and all of the wooden floors. Nice and clean and tidy now :)

OH is at a work thing this evening so I have it all to myself - to be honest he's getting on my wick a bit this week so I'm not disappointed ;)
Planning on watching the soaps and gogglebox, having a bit of wine and just relaxing for a couple of hours knowing that I don't have to get up at 5.15!!

I've cancelled my hair appointment for tomorrow - was looking at it this evening before I had a bath and it can survive another couple of weeks and I've just dyed it myself. It can wait until after pay day.

Will have a think about what to do tomorrow- no big plans yet
