Thanks Cumbria Lass! I'm also in your neck of the woods and its next Sunday
Haven't done the bee walk yet but would like to. Maybe next weekend as a break from work?
Have danced and sung my way through all of the cleaning, mowing and tidying - with headphones on so the neighbours must think I'm losing the plot making up my own lyrics to 90s dance music
Even felt the urge to clean the inside of the car - everything is now spotless and order has been restored... Only me that's not clean now - the dog is fresher than me! Will have a bit of lunch and go for a run then have a shower.
No more putting off work then.....0 -
Have spent all day working but finally feel like I know vaguely what I'm talking about with regards to the new schools position. Bit brain dead now....
I've just taken the dog for a stroll for some fresh air and exercise and am waiting for the water to warm up for a bath. In the meantime I'm watching an episode of Designated Survivor on Netflix - my newest fadlove the overacting and drama of it all.....
Then it's time to get things ready for tomorrow (clothes and work stuff) and try to not panic....0 -
Thank you MT for working my ramblings out. Good to know you are in this neck of the woods. The bees have caused a couple of good days out recently. Sadly I missed today's as a bit under the weather.
Hope all goes well on your first day in new job. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Good luck tomorrow - I know the first day back is always tough but I think even more so with a new job. I'm sure that you'll be amazing. Not giving up

Lots of luck for your next adventure. I'm sure that you'll be brilliant.
The film and orchestra sounds great. Years ago, OH and I went to see Looney Tunes (the cartoons) with the London Philharmonic playing along - it was absolutely brilliant and we still talk about it. DS1 kicked along with it all - I was 8 months pregnant at the time :rotfl:
And another thing to consider, we've been making a huge effort to use the ECO setting on the car and keep the speed limit down and it's resulted in much better usage of diesel for only a little extra time in the car. Definitely opened our eyes since Diesel hit such a high price. You may already be good at this and you're a bit more urban than we are so the temptation to put your foot down might not be so great.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Hello all! I'm still alive....just!!
Thank you all for your good wishes. Really appreciated.
The week has been bonkers so far and I'm knackered. INSET on Monday then straight into it with the kids and a million meetings for the rest of the week. It all feels a bit strange and like I'm on holiday there and I'm going back to my old job at some point but I'm sure it will pass. The kids are great and the staff have been really nice so far but it's early days
I've had loads to do in the evenings too, just to get on top of things but I did make time to see OH for a couple of hours last night. He's up to his eyeballs in work too.
Done a couple of hours tonight but have deliberately put everything away, even though there's still more I could do, so I can try to switch off and have a bit of down time and an early night. My feet are killing me and I'm shattered. Friday tomorrow though thankfully......0 -

Enjoy your weekend, once you've got things straight for next week (or so) then put it all away and focus on recharging yourself. Pace yourself especially whilst everything is so new.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
