Poor you. That sounds debilitating. Do keep hydrated as an upset tummy can be very dehydrating, dioralyte or similar if you can stomach it or glucose tablets/lucozade and water if not - and a little bit of something salty even a cracker or a couple of crisps.
Fingers crossed the GP can help put your mind at rest if not sort something out for you.

  • Hope you feel better soon MT. Sounds unpleasant and I have everything crossed that it isn't C.diff….

Thank you Joey and Cat. I'm feeling much better now. Symptoms are subsiding and I've ventured out to the vet and park this afternoon.
When I had C diff before it was absolutely horrible and I was off work for ages. Just couldn't leave the house.
The doctor will send a prescription to the chemist for me if its not completely back to normal (ish) tomorrow. I just need to ring the receptionist and she'll sort it. I think it's probably just a bug but with my new job and a holiday in a week I need to be ok!! Fingers crossed the improvement continues.

On a positive note, I've finished watching the entire set of Grace and Frankie - really enjoyed it. Hope they're making a new series.

A bit more telly, an early night and lots of water will hopefully miraculously heal me by tomorrow:)

    Morning all!
Thankfully, am almost back to normal now. Slept really badly though - up and down all night with the usual tablet related issues. Getting very fed up of that side of things now. Constantly boiling or freezing all night.....
Never mind, it's a new day now.

Have just taken the dog for a good walk (very slowly as he only has one speed these days) - no park today as it tipped down in the night and it will be too wet and mucky.
Going to do some work this morning - haven't felt the urge over the last couple of days but need to crack on today. Will see how I get on and then maybe do a couple of errands if I get fed up with working. Not sure if I'm quite up to a run yet - will see how I feel later and maybe do a short test run of 3km or so just to see how I get on.
Right, no more procrastination - get on with it woman!

Thanks Cat. Still improving ..... Fingers crossed xx

Have spent the entire morning working, trying to get my head around the new school systems, what needs doing and working out my teaching groups and timetable etc.
It's a bit of a scary prospect - the unknown - but once I start I'm sure I'll be fine.
Have had enough of it for now though - need to do something else for a while.

Might see OH later - he's having a golf lesson this morning - but if not I'll have to think of something to do to get me out of the house for a while. Starting to get a bit bored with my own company.
Have a few errands to do so might get on with them......

Been out and about, running some errands. Picked up the dry cleaning, bought some euros and holiday toiletries and have taken the dog to the park whilst it's dry.
Came home and cleaned and tidied the kitchen, watered the plants and then decided to wipe down the paintwork throughout the hall and stairs. It looks better but will be on the list for redecoration in the next 6 months.

Going out for an early drink with OH and the dog about 6 and then he's cooking dinner for us. Won't stay over tonight as he has a very early golf match tomorrow and needs a proper sleep and that's something I'm not very good at this week .....

Feel more like myself now - physically much better but more on the ball and getting things done.
Off into the bath to make myself look presentable and not like I've spent the best part of two days in the toilet ;)

Glad that you're feeling better, it can really take it out of you. And coupled with the disturbed sleeps (me too, I feel your pain) it must have been doubly bad as you don't even get to have a proper rest at night.
Have spent today redecorating our utility room which has been a need for quite a while. It's going to look so much better but will take til the morning for some of the paint to be fully dry. Hoping that the animals won't invade before then.
Still need to do the cupboard where the recycling and washing machine live but that needs plaster for the walls and a major sort out so I'm hoping OH doesn't decide to do it this weekend. I've got other projects that I'd like to do that don't involve quite as much dust. I have one large room of doom that needs sorting but it's going to take days of sorting and I just can't face it. I need to ambush myself into tackling it; I do that sometimes, just sidle up to a task and sort a bit which turns into sorting it all.
Have a major haul for the charity shop and am about to venture onto Depop to sell some of DS1's funkier cast offs in the hope that they make more than eBay would.

Well done on the decorating Joey! I always regret starting it when I'm half way through but am pleased and feel quite smug when it's done! :)

Have woken up to a bit of a relapse - I have a phone appointment with the doctor around 10am to hopefully sort it out. Slept a little bit better last night so don't feel ill other than the stomach issues. I'm not going to let it get me down though - I'm thinking of it as a pre-holiday diet and hopefully it will subside quickly with antibiotics as it's not nearly as bad as it got last time (yet).

Need to get a few jobs done today - cleaning the conservatory, possibly cutting the grass if it stays dry, sorting my driving licence, a bit of ironing and some form of gentle exercise. I'm rubbish at sitting around so will take it fairly easy but still be productive.

Right, I think it's safe to venture out to the park for a dog walk (fingers crossed!) - better get going .......

Been to the park, popped to the local shop for chicken for the dog and then cut both back and front lawns before it rains. Have also deep cleaned the conservatory (other wise known as the dog corridor to the back garden!), renewed my driving licence on line and checked the banking. Everything ok so far - I get paid the day I arrive home from Ibiza and have the spending money converted to euros (hopefully too much) ready. So, it's just from now until next Wednesday to budget for. I have visitors from Sunday to Tuesday and no big plans for Saturday so it should be ok. The money for my hair appointment on Tuesday is squirrelled away in another account so there's no big outlay there either.
I've just emailed the HR person at my new job to find out when I'll get paid in September, just thinking about direct debit dates etc. that might need changing.

The doctor rang and has given me a prescription and a sample pot (charming) - he wants me to hold off on antibiotics until tomorrow to see whether it clears by itself but was happy to prescribe in case I needed them over the weekend. I have a brilliant surgery - I'm very lucky.
