I remember back in the day we had a 286 PC that we used for reliability calcs. We'd set it going on a Friday afternoon and it would be just finishing when we returned on Monday morning (provided the software didn't crash over the weekend). The same calcs now on a modern machine would be done in less than a minute.0

All you younguns talking about high tech 386 things. This is what we had back in the day http://www.hpmuseum.org/hp9820.htm

Yes, there's a curious notion going around that change is always for the better. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it's mixed.
i think you have covered all bases. can someone else please confirm?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0 -

I can remember using them for my Fortran programs. Luckily I only had to write itoonthcldingsheets, it was the punch card operator's job to type it it all into cards0

Its not the operating systems that I remember most, it was the cables. Plug it all in and start playing lander then a lorry goes by and it all crashes. Just getting anything to work was an experience. Happy days.

Going back to the original question, what are the odds that Classic Shell will continue to work with the imminent next version of Windows 10? With each of the last major updates MS turns off CS and it has to be reinstalled and enabled. Hopefully the current version, still available to download, will continue to work, otherwise I shall be looking for alternatives. I can never get on with the MS new fangled version.0
