I forgot - there's Skype for Business as well - that one really annoys me - try to remove that from Office 2016 pro plus and you win first prize in Twuncles weekly prize giving !!
If you don't want to use it don't. It won't do any harm sitting there unused. It won't do anything if you don't use it. Why upset yourself trying to do things that really aren't needed to be done?

If you want to get rid of the Xbox app run powershell as admin and type

    Get-AppxPackage *xboxapp* | Remove-AppxPackage

    Doing just:

    Get-AppxPackage

Gives you all the names of the packages installed. I haven't gone through them all so don't know what you can and can't remove. The Candy Crush one would be a good one but last time I tried, not with the powershell commanded admittedly, it just kept reinstalling inself later.

What annoys me is issues like that and the targetted ads. How can they justify adverts on a bit of software you've paid for. Well I guess they'll just say "You haven't paid for Windows 10, you're just licensing it".

I think if Linux was more user friendly, more people would move to it.

I suppose that you love cortana and edge as well ?
If you accept that MS are spying on your every move on-line (keylogger ?) and will soon be extending this with new T&C that they expect everyone to agree to... RETROSPECTIVELY !!
This means that everyone will be scrutinized every time that anything is input in a browser !!
They are clearly in breach of European GDPR
Even facebook's debarke hasn't put them off |!
    Don`t use Cortana or Edge.

I thought this thread was about Classic Shell not another rant about Microsoft/Google etc getting your data :D

    EVERYONE wants your data.

I have a perfect way of stopping updates.
My old NUC has a 32gb drive and is near full. only used for a light browsing machine so it does nag a bit but no updates :D

My extravagant Surface book however is fully up to date and I like having Skype for business for work skypes

Yes. I recall. Perfect OS that no-one reasonable could complain about in any way.

    It was brilliant
No constant updates of many 100's Mb (the whole OS was about 20Mb) with full user control over what it did !
