Cheery's country living adventure

Yep, the weight isn't great ... and I love the sound of dragging the bikes out! Forget the journal for now, if you can of course - you're on holiday, this is all for **you**
ETA - speaking about the weight from **experience**!2023: the year I get to buy a car9 -
Thanks folks 😊
Exercise class was fun! Leisure centre seems pretty small and friendly, there were 7 of us in the class (I'd guess only one of them was younger than me) and the instructor was lovely. We felt nicely spaced out. Communal changing rooms which I am NOT a fan of - but I mostly won't be getting changed there anyway (I've yet to see the swimming pool changing rooms).
Spent the afternoon pottering round here, and did some more sewing - I've nearly finished my new top now, just have to hem tomorrow.
Dropped car off and picked up again, all fixed.
We did nip to a cafe this evening which was nice, in town, felt almost like we were on holiday 🤣
So, tomorrow, a vague list...
* finishing sewing new top
* order fabric for next one!
* get stuff done to chicken run extension
* maybe more dismantling of the shelter and a trip to the tip
* washing!
* indoor cycling class in the evening
That'll do - the shelter/tip could easily take the whole day, as could the chicken run 🤣🤣10 -
The gym class sounds nice - much less intimidating than I always imagine!
I love that ‘holiday’ feeling when you’re not on holiday - elusive but so refreshing!!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Cheery, thanks for the link to the 'chicken' thread, I will check it out (out of interest only, I don't have any chooks).
I put on some weight during lockdown and really need to shift it, made more difficult because I cannot be very active. However, I would like to point out that there is nothing inherently wrong with feeling 'Sluggish'
We sat in the shade and played Mah Jong this afternoon but it was still a bit too warm for me.It's not difficult!

'Wonder' - to feel curious.6 -
Sounds most pleasant hb! And my apologies, I agree sluggishness can and should be embraced sometimes 😁
Not today though. Finished sewing my top this morning, then we nipped to the cafe - the last time this holiday sadly as they've had to close for a couple of weeks 😢😢 Did some garden pottering, made a decent start on fixing up round the bottom of the chicken extension, then more strimming, then a spin class 😮
Tired now 😂
I think tomorrow will be an at home day. I want to do some more strimming, and there's a guy from the national park coming out in the morning. Not sure what else.7 -
Just looking at lists, and I think I did most of today's!
* finishing sewing new top - TICK
* order fabric for next one! - NO
* get stuff done to chicken run extension - STARTED, SO TICK
* maybe more dismantling of the shelter and a trip to the tip
* washing! - TICK
* indoor cycling class in the evening - TICK
Not tooooo bad...
So tomorrow
* more strimming of drive and garden
* dismantle rest of shelter
* tip trip
* finish putting wire mesh and stones round base of chicken run
* more washing if weather's nice
* sort out by back door - Mr Cheery cleared out kitchen for builders to look at the other day, and everything is all piled by back door instead
* washing up and general tidy
OK, that's enough now 🙄 I also want to see if I can arrange some visitors while I'm off. I did manage to arrange two sets of visitors - but both are for my next fortnight off, not this one!9 -
This is holiday days, yes? Can you and Mr Cheery get to a nice open beach and have a paddle in the sea? This may be what I'm doing tomorrow with my sister, by the way **whistles innocently**2023: the year I get to buy a car8
-
Certainly is holidays, and yes, a paddle would be most welcome! We're about as far from the sea as it's possible to get in this country 😂 but we should really make an effort!
Not today though. I was interrupted having my breakfast (at 9.30, not early) by the farmer, who stayed nattering til 11, when the national park geezer turned up, and it turned out they were related to each other (but hadn't met), and eventually the farmer left but the other geezer has only just gone now 😂 So basically I've got nothing done at all so far today!9 -
Oh my word! Well, a change is as good as a rest and all that ... you just have to make what you can of that one, don't you
Enjoy whatever you decide to do
