Well wasn't that an Easter weekend to savour?!
Such glorious weather we ate dinner outside every evening. I just love being outside and getting fresh air and Vitamin D.
We had lunch with friends, went boating with my parents and even spent a child free afternoon together having a lovely countryside walk.
It is so lovely having Mr Star home. We had some "5 year plan" type chats (marriage, children, where we want to live, doing up the house, changing jobs, cars etc etc) and it's all looking very rosy, there is just so much choice isn't there?
As usual, the only solid plan we started to make is holiday based. We are going to do a real bucket list trip to central America next February.
Not much to discuss on the money front. We paid for lunch out, boating and a weekly food shop but these were all joint account expenses. I bought StarChild new sandals and myself a new dress so £60 spent there.
I've still not had March's Child Maintenance and it's nearly May so my reserves haven't been topped up. The money I had earmarked for saving has been spent on childcare and clubs and new clothes etc. He is a fool.
Oh well. almost payday. Mr Star is home for 3 1/2 more weeks and the sun is still shining.
I really must not let the summer feeling take over. I must prep for both my interview and start prepping for my exam re-sit in June...I must pay the fee for that on payday.
I also must really buy a bicycle.
Time to write a list in my diary and get on with it all.
Take care

Do you ever just have those moments where you think to yourself "why are you just making life so complicated"?
It's nothing in particular, I guess I am just terrible for getting wrapped up in what i think I should be doing rather than what I enjoy or actually want to do.
We both have very professional careers and I suppose there is a little bit of "keeping up" with the office folk. H* in sales looks amazing all the time...but I know i couldn't walk in her shoes (literally or figuratively). I actually don't care about fashion or big houses or fancy cars so why am I acting like I do/should.
I think a few lessons in keeping it simple are due. A bit of a house declutter, a bit of a social media declutter, a bit of a responsibility declutter.
I mentioned I spoke with Mr Star this weekend about 5 year plans. We have both decided we don't want a wedding...being center of attention in a big white dress sounds terrible to me. I don't even want an engagement ring. I'm not a jewelry person, I'd be paranoid of losing it and it would just snag on my clothes. A simple gold band, a trip to the registry office in a non conformist but fairly stylish (but very me) frock and a nice dinner. That's all I want- marraige, not a party.
I want another child too. I couldn't give a fig about expensive prams or baby massage, silly frilly dresses and matching nursery furniture. A healthy baby in a simple white baby grow, laying on a blanket at the park. That's what I want.
I'll swap a fast car for commuting by foot or pedal power even in the rain if it means I get to travel and explore.
So I guess they are the plans.
Also, I want to free up my evenings a bit more to enjoy summer. No late nights in the office followed by TV and mindless scrolling on my phone. Home (sometimes via the park next to SC's school, cooking yummy food ( I love cooking) and reading. Why do we always fall out of practice of doing the things that make us feel good?

Great plans Starmummy. I have been in the garden a lot recently and it really helps me feel positive. Live life in the moment too. Stop and listen and look at the trees, watch water moving. It is simple and wonderfulSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
