Duct tape on the back. Or is this a man's cheapy way of thinking..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Or nail varnish, unless of course, you're allergic to nail varnish
I often have to do the back of cheap watchesIs it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Oooh..... there's some food for thought! The nail varnish might be best - not got anyone to do a "dad" thing any more, and the edges of the duct tape would irritate my skin the same way the metal would (tho I'd certainly do it if not, I am a bit bloke-y in many ways...). I don't *think* I'm allergic to nail varnish..... isn't it odd the things we talk about? :rotfl: That'll be nice in summer. :T2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hello! Happy New Year!
Don't think I've posted on here before although I've popped back and forth plenty!
Anyway, matched betting: I can do it, but it took forever to understand. Me, DH and his mate who's got an engineering degree and teaches maths spent an entire day trying to work it out, and we still messed up the first couple of times, so it's definitely not an easy concept, but now I understand it (or enough of it to muddle through) I've realised that you don't actually have to understand it all, you just need to know what to do, and it's actually fairly easy once you've gone through it a few times. I'm not great at it, but more than happy to help anyone who wants advice on the 1,2,3 thing without too much explanation or detail!
As I mentioned on Hypno's diary, the problem I had was motivation, and getting my lazy bum into gear to go out there and find the deals from the bookies, so the idea came that maybe if a few of us got together we could take it in turns to find a bookie, and share any tips on the bets we've found. So if there were, say, 5 of us, it would mean 5 times the profit for a fifth of the work (or would that take 25 of us? whatever...!). A couple of people already expressed an interest when I mentioned it on Hypno's page. There are boards somewhere that people do that properly, but I don't venture away from DFW and it seems you guys aren't keen to mix with the pros either!
It's such a money-making opportunity, I MUST get into it properly this year!0 -
anything to do with spending my own money scares me lol I only play free bingo, take on free trials etc0

Duchy - I can't wear bigger knickers! Have you seen the big ones? They go from normal hipster to granny, and when you're in your 30s thats okay, but not in your 50s, then you *are* a granny! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Pandapaws - that is a *good* idea. It also takes care of my problem, knowing the 1,2,3.... So that could be you, me, GTD (who was going to do m.b.ing with me a while back) and choco. I'll check on hypno's thread and the Olympic Challenge thread too. We will have to emigrate to the gambling thread, I've seen people try to set up m.b. threads on here, and because the m.b. experts don't come onto the dfw board regularly enough, it doesn't work, but we can help each other get set at least.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I posted on the official thread, and was answered really quickly by windym:

When you want to lay at Betfair you click the pink box (next to the blue one). The box has two sets of figures in it. The top figure is the odds. The figure with the £sign is the amount of money that can be matched currently.
So, if you have a bet at odds of 2 and the pink box says 2.01 and has £20. Then you can match up to £20 at those odds. The £20 represents the lay stake. The lay risk is the amount of balance you need to have in Betfair."
I think I need to shut the computer down and start up again tomorrow. G'night all.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Erm, I'd have said the answer to your question was 'Yes'. But then as I say, I'm not brilliant at it!
If you really want to hear it, here's my full explanation of what windym was saying - don't panic, it always takes me 1000 words to say very little! Hopefully though, if you read slowly it should make sense...
Here's the screen that you're (hopefully!) looking at on Betfair with the blue and pink boxes (I've just picked this particular match totally at random).0
