Karmacat: I'm passionate about my DFW journey to riches

Well, I decided to stop hijacking hypno's thread, and start my own DFW diary as well, and here it is (still joining in there, as someone just said its very like the Cheers bar!) but this is for the detail of my journey.
I *am* passionate about becoming debt-free. I'm also passionate about two other main things: about living my life to the full once again, and, uh, Michael Shanks from Stargate SG1! :rotfl: I've been thinking about starting a diary for a while, and Michael is coming to the UK next week for a visit, and it all seemed to come together. So here I am.
My present situation:
- mortgage of £43,000 taken out in September 1987. Currently paid off £1600.
- personal loan, unsecured, for £10,862.51 taken out on 18 April 2005, at 5.7% fixed. This loan is in relation to an investment property, so I reclaim the interest on my tax form. Currently outstanding: £7,502.48.
- 0% interest credit card. Just paid off October's instalment today, so that now stands at £2,144.63. This was originally a stoozing account, and when I had my first cash crisis a few years ago, I used it to pay a tax bill instead of breaking into savings. Just looked back, and tho this wasn't the start of the credit card, this is good enough: I transferred to a stooze card on 8 Feb 2006, and at that date this debt stood at £3,641.30.
Total debt today stands at: £41,400 mortgage, and £9,647.11 loan/credit card.
I was going to pay off another £500 from the mortgage today (gift from my mother) but wasn't completely sure that there had been another ordinary interest payment since my last overpayment
(hope that makes sense) so I didn't. I'll do that in about a fortnight.
Thats enough for now. There'll be lots more to come.

I lurk on Hypno's so will undoubtedly lurk here too (it will help to keep me on the DFW wagon) . Good luck with your journey, I have no great money saving advice to impart so will stop rambling now:silenced: .

Hypno! Oh great one!
we cross posted - I sense you're right about the support, which I'm *also* looking forward to.
Spirit - I'm sure I've seen your posts as well sometimes, but I lurk sometimes too. Everybody keeps each other going on here, and I can see you chip into that. Good vibes to us all.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
