Hi Karmacat so you are coming to MK. I've walked around collectormania several times now, although not participating as not that serious a sci-fi fan, although do like Dr Who and Torchwood. Also got into Heroes as well. but I do agree Michael Shanks is a bit of alright. Is James Marsters the guy that played Spike in Buffy?

Hi karmacat, I'm glad to see you've started a diary of your own. And I'm glad to see there's someone even older than me on MSE!

    Hi all!

dubgirl - yes, James Marsters played Spike, wonderfully intense actor, really made the role his own. PS - oh, I've just seen where you are! Yes, its Collectormania, never been to it before, I'm meeting a netfriend and a convention friend, who've both been. Can't imagine what its like for ordinary shoppers.

Seaxwyn - "I'm glad to see there's someone even older than me on MSE!" - gimme a break!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: what *have* I let myself in for with mentioning when my mortgage started???

duchy - I just had a problem with internet explorer and had to shut everything down, so am abandoning it for now, and deffo getting out to the garden.

    Thanks for the support, everyone!

I think CMK is used to the weird and the wonderful. I once attended a Masters Bowling tournament there. They set up two professional bowling lanes right by John Lewis. Was a bit of a trip down memory lane for me as I used to work in CMK when it first opened and automatically parked in my old parking space from twenty years earlier.
I think the quidco link will probably be a cheaper option for a 3 star hotel but if you fancy a 4 star priceline might pay off on the "name your own price" option.

Yeah collectormania is a nightmare for regular shoppers, I will probably just avoid the city centre when its on. The only advice I would give you Karmacat is to make sure you have plenty of patience and are prepared to wait, coz I've seen the queues for the autographs and it gets packed.

Evening KC, well I've *done* my front garden and am now stiff and sore from all that digging, pruning and weeding.
Sadly my next door neighbour watered my honeysuckle with weedkiller because it was growing on HIS fence, but I've now planted some shrubs which should put his plants into shade. (gardeners revenge is slow....)
(and I got the tall shrubs reduced in Lidl :D )
