Just an update. Haven't done anything at all over the past few days, cos of having the virus, except cancel a mystery shop I was supposed to do today  but at least they emailed back and asked if I could do it next week. And there's a day free when I can do it, hurray, so thats something. The other thing I did was book my hotel for Friday night in Milton Keynes via lastminute via quidco :money: . So I've started on my quidco cashback! And now I'll have to finish, in the best Mastermind tradition....
Off to bed, as soon as I've finished a teeny little bit of wine. Have a good weekend all.:wave:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hiya
Well, I'm one of the latest back, from what I've seen of the forum already. But I *am* back, and I was thinking of it all the time, honest!
Thinking back ..... Milton Keynes was great. First of all a report on the moneysaving: not very moneysaving on the travel (I usually get travelcards when I'm in London, so £4 for a single tube ticket was a bit of a shock!).... but at least I have a network rail card, so I got a third off the single rail tickets. And arriving there after 10pm, I got a taxi from the train station. Didn't have the hotel breakfast (£10) instead I brought my own lovely brekkie - oats, sunflower seeds, ground almonds and apricots, and soaked it in choccy soya milk. And cos I was at the hotel, I had my breakfast in bed, a leisurely bath, a 5m walk to the centre, it was great. Walked back to the rail station, and walked home from my local train station.
Emotionally and physically, it was so intense, so draining, I just lolled about the whole rest of the weekend, didn't finish unpacking till Monday some time.
And now......... MICHAEL!!!! Omigod, it was so great to see him again! He has this three quarter length leather coat, and he looks *so* sexy in it (and thats in spite of me being a vegetarian!). He just glows with charisma - mind you, its pretty easy to feel *up* for the day when hundreds of people are queuing to have you sign your photograph, or have their picture taken with you, I know.... he just has a kind word and a laugh for everyone. And, oh yeah, he looks like a god.
The first photo was terrible of me, and when I said that (uh, with his arm around me, and *really* close to me) he laughed and hugged me extra hard, so his expression on the photo that I had signed, the 2nd one, isn't posed for the camera, its a concern thing, he knows how freaked the fans are. And unfortunately I'm getting more freaked when I meet him, not less.... maybe thats about being in debt now? Dunno.
I've been trying to insert a couple of scans I did, and can't manage it - still not posting my own image up, but I got him to sign the 2nd photo to Karmacat. I'll try again later.........
Gonna put what I've actually *done* on a moneysaving level into another post, still worried about breaking mse.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Tells you how much I was thinking of mse all the time - just before I went to bed last night, I had to write down a list of what I'd done that was mse since I was last online here. So here's the list:
- have done *lots* of surveys, and got quite a few points too - god bless lightspeed.
- have finally, finally, started my accounts for 06/07.
- have got up over £20 on pigsback (I answered a few questions on my own! but can't find them all on my own, so not many entries in the daily draws).
- have put in a request for my ciao money to be transferred to my account - when it comes, I'm going to unsub from them, I don't like spending ten minutes filling out a survey and then being told I'm not eligible, it feels sneaky. Anyway, that'll be £14 turning up some time this month.
- remembered I have £25 in an Egg account somewhere (found it while checking *this* year's bank statements - I was going to get Egg Money Manager, but missed out, so I'll keep it there till it comes round again, and not lose touch with it this time.
- I'd applied for a Moneyweek trial, to get the cashback from greasy palm, and while I was offine, cancelled the direct debit and told them.
- this one sounds a bit mad - I'd been putting by old/freebie CDs to use as an unusual path edging - I've done it before in a different area, which was quite dry, tho they're no longer there. But the area where I want to do it now, I'd put a few down as an experiment, and the silver stuff has peeled ff in the wet, and gone into the soil. That *can't* be good, so I've just chucked about 100 unuseable CDs. Every little helps, they say..... with decluttering as well as debts!
And in the next few days:
- will be doing my latest mortgage overpayment tomorrow, courtesy of my mum.
- will be doing that while I'm out at a mystery shop - its in another local town, but I can break the rail journey back in my own town and do some stuff in the centre.
- meant to get my stuff back up on Amazon, but haven't. I *have* rooted out some other books, old counselling course ones, and will root out some other CDs. Not sure if I'll be able to get those up today, or even this week, the accounts really take precedence, but thats the plan.
- today, I've got 4 hours work, but quite spread out - ideal for the mindless part of doing the accounts (listing stuff from bank statements, etc).
Okay, I think thats enough!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC, it sounds like you had a great time in MK - I did venture to the city centre myself, although the crowds do my head in a bit at times. Collectormania is always a very well supported event and it seems like fun, especially looking at all the bods dressed up in their favourite sci-fi character. You seem far more motivated in terms of MSE than me at the mo. We've been struggling to break even for the last few months - I'm gonna have to get some stuff on ebay, but just cant seem bothered at the mo.0
