Hi dubgirl - it is fun, it really is, and its a break from the hard slog. I *am* motivated, I guess - I'm recognising that my situation is coming to be a little bit like hypno's, because of my income slowly deteriorating - my income doesn't really cover my outgoings, in spite of paring things down to the bone (I used to have half a dozen events like Collectormania, not just SF but other interests too). Now, this is the first I've been to in about 3 years.

All the extra bits I make are going into a savings account, and they'll go towards paying off my 0% credit card, which is due for a switch soon. That extra is almost at £400 in cash, even ignoring vouchers, etc, so it will make a fair difference in the cashflow. Still not good, tho, unless I make my fortune on the spread betting, of course.....

Just before my first piece of paid work today, I nabbed two mystery shops from one of my organisations (they're mine, I tell you! All mine! a.k.a Neddy from The Seagoons). Anyway, that means that tomorrow when I go to the one I already have booked, I can stop off *before* I make my mortgage overpayment and do another m.s. - three dfw things for the price of one little tiny train fare! And there's another one on Monday I've booked, in the same stream - and its in Lewes! I'll stay for a little while to watch the preparations for Bonfire Night, but Lewes on the 5th is scarily mad, really bonkers, and I'm really over all of that. I'll get home at a normal-ish time and do the inputting! There'll be lots of inputting tomorrow night as well.

I've also noticed when one of the companies tends to post new assignments (and how quick they are to go, lol) so I'll have another go tonight.

PS - just shows.... in case of more attacks, I'm going to download these pages to my own computer. I know people say lots about the support you get when you're writing a diary, but I'd already felt supported by the community at large, and didn't expect my own diary to be different. But it is! Its a lot more intense, so thank you, all of you that are posting or reading, it really helps!

Hey Karmacat, I hadn't noticed you had started a diary, wooo, another one to add to my subscriptions! I was a bit lost with the Sci-fi stuff until someone mentioned Anthony Head, and then my heart started beating a little bit faster....lol!

Glad you had a nice time at the weekend. Will look forward to reading more of your updates!

Hi Snaggles!:D How nice to see you pop over! Yeah, sorry about the SF stuff dominating, thats just a reflection of the MK visit - I'm generally a *little* more rounded than that :rotfl:

Now, I have a dfw question:money: : there's a mystery shop going, as of 5 mins ago, where the journey will take almost an hour, it will cost £3.50, and I can't combine it with anything else. It will give me a profit of £5.50 for 2.5 hours, plus the data input time. OTOH, tho there's nothing mse I can combine it with, it *will* get me out the house, and I can do my banking and food shopping (which I normally do in London on Fridays) - result, since London is frantic and sometimes that stuff gets left undone, meaning I have to do really carppy admin stuff on Saturdays, which I really hate. Okay, you've all persuaded me.... :rotfl: ........ I take the job! Thanks guys!:T

Glad you got your "moment(s)" this weekend KC
    I did too
Just got off the phone with National-conversation started with them telling me to claim through their insurance and ended (once I'd said "fine I'll get my solicitor on it") with him going off to ask his boss if they could just refund my railfare. My losses were more than just the railfare but I really don't want to end up in the hands of a "claims piranah" if I can help it as I was lucky to escape with heavy bruising and nothing more serious. Time will tell if they see sense or not. Swelling is starting to go down now and I made the concerts-sometimes life is just too short to bother with "rights"

Oh lol, don't worry, I was enjoying reading your convention escapades, I just didn't know who any of the people were (although nice pictures....yum!).

I love Buffy though, mainly because Anthony Head is in it (although up until he went off to America, he was always Tony Head ). Totally gorgeous! So feel free to talk about it as much as you like. :D

Duchy - you poor thing! You went to see Donny, didn't you? What a thing to happen, I hope you're not feeling too rough. However, glad my telepathy worked earlier on about the £5 net profit from the mystery shop!

InTheRed - come on in, the more the merrier! The garden, oh boy... I was out there for another half an hour yesterday, a couple of supermarket carrier bags of roots and long grass are now sitting in the dustbin. How big is it? To be honest, I don't know.... its pretty big, actually.... its about 30 ft wide, by...... its probably about the same as yours, actually, but it seems enormous to me. Its also really difficult to get around in because its on such a steep slope - to get to the bit I'm digging from the house, I have to go up about 20 steps, for instance. Up and down. Each time. You can tell I'm not impressed with it! And I really hate cutting trees down, or even back, bushes too, so this whole "get your garden in order thing" has been really difficult for me. What are you doing? What special problems does yours have (and they all do, lets face it!)

Snaggles - hi again! Oh, I seriously loved Buffy, I think it was one of the funniest and most intelligent programmes ever produced. I love what Anthony Head's done with his career (he wasn't really on my radar before Buffy, I have to confess). The pix earlier on are great, aren't they? I wish I could remember what button to press [Karmacat can sulk for Britain, you know, even on her own thread]. Have to say, actually, I *love* your sig, really really really do, cake or death is just so... vivid. Great stuff. Mine's too meaningful, I have to find something like that. Thanks!
