  • Glad the weather is nice there, is absolutely awful here but seem to have got a bit done myself. I heard a good tip about jiffy bags, just get a load of bubble wrap and use that then post in plain cheapo envelopes, a very cheap alternative and works just as well.

Done loads on the accounts, I don't *think* I'll get them done by the end of the month, but I won't be far off. Cleared out my desk drawer too, the *carp* that was in there was amazing.

I too have had a clear up today, of the top of my desk. It's amazing how quickly I can move when I knock over a cup of tea :o. I too found a load of carp. Which now is largely on the floor, waiting to be 'filed' elsewhere ;). I would post a piccie, but tidy up didn't reveal phone cable to connect phone to PC, nor spare batteries for camera .

Keep going on accounts, but I'm impressed with your cleaning :T.

    Hiya!

Bob - the thing about buying new jiffy bags is that I need them as an sae for The Daily Mail freebie CD of Quantum of Solace - I use used ones myself, from freecycle or my own, and I started to stick them in the envelopes for the DM, but then realised they'd have to be sealed with sellotape, and I bet they wouldn't do that. It'll have to be the proper stuff I'm afraid.

Gallygirl - thanks! :o my cleaning is only impressive because I let it get *so* dirty beforehand, I'm afraid. But it was really nice to get the place clean and then be able to open all the windows and have warm air come in, and very strange too, cos of how cold the nights are.

The accounts are doing well - I've been doing work-work this evening, so no more tonight, but I'll crack on tomorrow, and have a chat with the accountant about how to present some stuff.

Hope everyone has lots of sound zzzzzz.....

Another day, another 10p on the scratchcards... of course, I'm dreaming of winning the gmtv £10,000 with free web entry - someone has to! Might as well be me, lol ....

Anyway, this is what's stacked up for today:
    - two hours work-work this afternoon.
    - been watching the trading, very nice trade at 8.15 giving 35 points, thank you very much.
    - I have to ring RE, a query on a shop - um, that's the one that was deallocated cos I didn't get a receipt, don't quite know how much *worse* it could get!
    - more accounts work.
    - oh god. I *have* to do another euro bookie on the matched betting, if I don't do *something* there all my plans will be out the window. I have been scheming to get two screens running on the one laptop, but I don't have the software, apparently. So I'll have to do it the hard way. Tough.
    - bits and bobs of admin.
    - must do something physical, preferably half an hour in the garden, but if not then a walk round the block. And that has to be this morning, it'll be too near to dark by the time I finish the work-work.

    Thats it for now!

:o :rotfl: Its a Powerpoint presentation! I'm not kidding :rotfl:

On tax matters :D just spoken to my accountants - made a polite fuss that no one in my "chain of command", so to speak, was available till next Monday, when I've never ever phoned with a question before, so I ended up speaking to the senior partner. Result:
    - genuinely personal sales on Amazon, eg to the tune of £150 or so, they don't care. Thats one less job to fiddle around with on my accounts.
    - they don't care how much money my mum has given me - it only matters if she dies within 7 years, it then has to be added back into her estate. No problemo.

All is good! Tho I've just realised I'm in trouble if they charge for telephone calls..... anybody know? I shall insist on being charged at assistant rates if so.

Hi Karmacat, I asked the Inland Revenue re Amazon & ebay sales, and they said genuinely personal sales up to £5,000 were OK!

Wow! I only mentioned the figure of £150 cos thats what mine are... thats good to know - I think some people on the auctions board are a bit paranoid about this informing-the-tax-people - I bet some people get put off by it, when they'd just be doing a couple of hundred a year for ages. Thanks for the feedback!
