I think the 'genuinely personal' bit is quite sobering for many people. If you buy even one thing at a carboot sale with the intention of selling it on you'd be in breach of that.

I seemed to sort of stop midway.... then worked.... then just *had* to have a snickers bar. Oh I know, I lost out at Vernons - I've a total of £4 coming from them, plus the cashback, and now I have 8p left! They have penny games next week, so thats where I'll spend that - I'd love it if I won a jackpot from those!

Going to curl up now, might do some more stuff later - I thought I'd do loads today, with only having the two hours, but I obviously needed a break after yesterday. Ah well.... Stargate Atlantis soon, thats what *really* matters, of course!

  • We will have non of that snickers malarky, tis good old marathon bars for me! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I always wondered about the tax allowance for selling on fleabay, so that is good news. Keep at the accounts, you will get there.:D

Yep, me too, really, but I thought I'd translate for our younger viewers.......

This morning, I can't plan as much as usual to do, cos I have 3 hours work spread out over most of the day, from 10.30 to 5.30. Awkward, so what I'll have to do is have the bitty little jobs ready to do - listing boring stuff on the accounts, ten minutes doing the washing up, that sort of thing. Actually, its more the kind of day where I'll list *afterwards*. I *hope* to do some stuff in the garden in one of the big gaps, but we'll see.

I quite liked those days when my clients were spread out - plenty of coffee drinking time in between :o

Have a good day, and enjoy the garden.....wrap up warm though!

Ooh yes, I will, thanks - mind you, bouncing around in the garden helps the circulation, thats what I'm hoping anyway.

My cousin's boyfriend is a tax inspector and he told me a couple of years ago that although they're giving the impression out that they're looking into Ebay etc sales, they haven't got a gnat's chance. He said that Ebay keep all their records in Switzerland and they haven't got access to any of it. He also said that they know just about everybody buys to resell on Ebay but they could never prove it, and they just don't bother.

I do declare my Ebay 'business' stuff, but if you're only selling bits and bobs then it's probably nothing to worry about. But I'm obviously not giving any guarantees, just passing on what I heard from a reliable source!

Hi KC! Hope you have a good day.

Geranium - hi! Welcome! I don't *feel* particularly organised just today, but I do *like* to be organised, thats true. It does help with the time flow. And your week off is just that, you know, isn't it - a week off, unless you have time to recuperate its difficult to do anything.

Pandapaws - hi to you too  that kind of agrees with what I got from my accountant, and what Seaxwyn got from hers. It sounds like the tax office are trading on fear, which the auction board on here has certainly picked up, to my mind. I did too! Anyway, if someone at my accountants changes their mind, its all visible, all the sales have gone through the account I use for business (not a business account! but the bank don't know that).

Squirrel - hola! yep, more coffee would be good right now, but I have a client in about 50 minutes, better not, I'll be bouncing through the walls, and I have to slow right down for this particular session anyway. I need to get washed and dressed, but even 5 minutes in the garden would be nice, even sweeping the path or something.

I just checked with the binmen, and they do take shredded paper for recycling, so thats my mindless project for the next two weeks. Plus there's a massive great bag in the garage that can go, that'll help.

I've just been checking trading in the background, have a simpler software programme from tradefair, as opposed to the mega mess that is now cmc spreadbettors, and there are three trades that would've made 75 points, and a trade with the same signals that didn't work, that would've lost me 20 - net 55 (thats what people say to aim for, a system where 3 out of 4 of your trades work). So I'm happy - I have to do those tradefair trades before 15th November to get the £75, I'm working on it.

    EDIT: its page 100!
