Coo! A lit crit science fiction book from the University of Reading, which I bought for £9 back in the day, is on Amazon for £54.99!

I know! I'm very dubious about these sorts of prices - and its created by one seller, as well - I don't want to start a bidding war by pricing under them, but I can't believe it will sell there. Mind you, Babylon 5 really was groundbreaking, so it might. I wonder if my poster would sell.... no, its too dear to me.... forget that.

Yawwwnnnnn...... I'm up too early. My list for today:

    - make a list
    - eat breakfast!
    - get over the annoyance of being stupid on Sunday with my mystery shop - they say in big red letters to get a receipt, and I didn't so its been deallocated. So I paid out £4.49 and won't get it reimbursed - I'm out of pocket working for this new lot, but I *will* have to get over it.
    - can't do anything too intense at this time of day, so I'm fiddling about with ipoints.
    - will have to print out and do a phone mystery shop in the morning - timing is a bit tight, as I have 1.5 hours work-work in the morning (and another 3 this afternoon, thats a heavy day for work-work for me!).
    - did well yesterday on the accounts, got to do more today - I've nearly done the really difficult part, reconciling the bank statements with what I say I've done.....
    - I'd like to say I'm going to do a matched bet, but with the work and the phone call, no way, thats the reality... sigh....

  • Hi Karma

Boo hiss to the receipt thingy, can you not go back to the coffee shop and ask for a receipt as you need it for expenses?

And lovely to be by the sea isn't it, there is something about being by the sea that just calms me.

    Have a good day x

Morning... that is a pain about the receipt. On the book, would it be worth having a look to see if any have sold on eBay, that might be a more realistic figure than one sale on Amazon?

    Hope it's a good day! x

Hi KM! How are you? I'm in a slightly better mood, tho still lots of sighs when I'm not expecting it.........

The mystery shop - I never thought of that! But today is Tuesday, that was Sunday, and the bus fare to get there is £3.50.... unless I rang them up? I don't think its going to fly with the m.s. people to be honest - isn't it all about the service at the time? For me to say I had to ask for a receipt is one thing, to not get one at all is another...... I dunno, I'm feeling a bit discouraged on that one :(

Have emptied the vacuum cleaner, taken the rubbish out, washed my hair, and printed the stuff for the mystery shop.....

Trying not to drown in negativity.....

  • You're putting me to shame with all you've done this morning! I've had breakfast and a coffee and thought I was doing well haha

Yeah sounds like the receipt sorting is a no no now but its all experience and so could have happened to any of us. There will be something (free moneymaking) come along on this site no doubt very soon which will off-set that little blip and will make you feel better x

Hiya KC! Bummer about the mystery shop. BUT on the positive side it was a relatively small amount you lost, and you've learned for next time, so when you do one for £50 you're far less likely to make the same mistake again!

Pasta makers eh? Don't know the first thing about them but it sounds fun! I put a wanted on Freecycle for a fish tank last week and got 4 responses, and asked if anyone has a freezer - off to check that email account now though I'm not holding my breath! I offer quite a bit on there, so I don't feel guilty asking but I do get fed up with all the posts saying 'laptop needed' or 'plasma TV wanted'. Why not skip the middleman and just ask for a handful of £20 notes?!

I bought the best little thing ever in The Works (the discount bookshop) last week - it's a pasta 'cooker' - basically a jar with a neoprene insulation sleeve, you just shove the pasta (or veg or whatever you want to boil) in it with boiled water and leave it for 10 mins, then use the straining lid to drain. Got a box with 2 in it for £2.99! Thought it would save the cooking electricity quite a bit, as well as being good for portion control (and laziness:o).

Love the first thing on your list...make a list :rotfl:
