What did I do today? Well, yesterday:
- opticians test at Tesco, 100 Clubcard Points.
- 20p scratchcard win!
- bought cheapie trainers, white and pink - the ones I'm wearing, even *I'm* starting to feel ashamed - rescued them from garden relegation about 6 years ago...
- printed 2 vouchers for Grassingtons meat free products at Sainsbury. but the vouchers didn't work - and they were selling at 2 for £2 anyway, which is what the vouchers would've been. !!!!!!?
- bought other bits and bobs too, but managed to wait for my main meal till I got home.
- then out again to pick up the pasta maker from kind freecycler - and google "cleaning pasta maker", hi ho.
Tidied up quite a bit. But there is *no* matched betting in that list, grrr.
And I was *exhausted* after that lot! I did two days worth of washing up too, but really.... I *have* to stop eating sugar, thats what does it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Egg have replied to my pathetic request for details about when I opened the account with them, bless them. Anybody know if its worth keeping open? Do you get dibs on 0% credit or anything? I'm seriously wondering whether to use the credit card cheques I've got to make a mortgage overpayment and repay from savings or something, by shifting it to a 0% card. But then, Martin's said Abbey are doing that 0% BT card for 6 months.... decisions, decisions....
I'm checking up on how to clean a pasta maker.... concensus seems to be that you use food grade oil, like sunflower oil or something.
Done my scratchcard - 10p again!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Bother! Just lost a post, trying to do too much. Ah well. Today so far:
- printed an email from Egg, bless them, telling me about my teensy weensy account with them. Anybody know if its worth keeping? Preference on zero cost balance transfers etc?
- done my scratchcard, 10p again lol
- done charity clicks for the first time in ages, seems only fair.
- been checking out how to clean a pasta maker - you can't put them in hot water. Concensus seems to be food grade oil.
- got a mystery shop at a sarnie shop this lunchtime, so I'm off early to my craft workshop, we'll see how they both go.
- and I want to check any mystery shops, tho they're unlikely to be put on today. Just checking.
Have a good day all.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
And remember to relax a bit............Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hope you've had a good day. The pasta maker sounds.. fiddly! How was the workshop?Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Oh yeah, relaxing! Well, after the workshop, I walked down to the sea, that was pretty good. I'm *finally* stopping - just done my 3rd RE report, and they are *so* difficult compared to other ones. Going to switch the comp off now, and make a cuppa tea.
The pasta maker is certainly fiddly, not done anything with it yet .... the workshop was difficult, to be honest - it was on crochet, and at first I just couldn't get it, but I finally did. What seems like the biggest, most difficult stitch is actually the easiest, the treble, and it covers the most ground. Like with the baby clothes patterns, tho, a lot of what's available is incredibly old fashioned, not that I'm hugely trendy but I do prefer clothes and styles of the time that we're in, rather than the 1950s.
Tea.... tea..... tea..... see you tomorrow, g'night.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC - I can't say I use our pasta maker every day, but it does make lovely pasta and it is fun playing with flour.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0

Know what you mean about the old fashioned styles, I like knitting but beyond scarves I've not seen much I'd actually want to wear!

I wish I lived near enough to do it on a daily basis. Always lived within walking distance of the Mersey as a child/teenager, and its wonderful - especially going down there in storms! Yesterday was bright but *very* breezy, a good compromise. The sweetest thing I saw was when two sets of friends met up - one had a toddler, the other an adolescent dog on a lead, and both of them were trying to get at the other to play.... it was fun to see :j I always focus on stuff like that as well as the openness and the grandness of the sky and the sea. All of it reminds me that in spite of money troubles, we are so lucky to have what we have.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
