Hi guys! Seaxwyn, I researched the deals in the usual way - uswitch.com, I think. I certainly didn't do anything out of the ordinary. And then when I found the deal I wanted, I went through Quidco, of course! That cashback has just been paid - its half my October £10 a day challenge money.

I'm in desparate straits at the mo - I'm trying to prepare for some mystery shop phone calls this *lunchtime*, and I can't pass the questionnaires (they're all the same!!!). I'm sure I've done them right, I've taken time away and come back, and its still the same. I've altered answers and resubmitted, no luck, I'm absolutely doomed at this place for phone calls, I don't know what's wrong, something like this happened last time, tho not exactly the same. Heeellllppppp!!!!!!

Ooh, the ethical bit. I'm really sorry, I haven't gone there yet. I do still have shares in a wind farm, if thats any compensation :o:o:o they were just about to float on AIM when the credit crunch hit - I bought them years ago before there *was* easily available ethical electricity.

Ethical gas. I know its a fossil fuel, but since nothing is done to it (apart from adding a smelly something so we know there's a leak) isn't it kind of ethical in itself? I'm not sure.....

Just managed it once - of course, I didn't keep a record of what I've done, so I'm not really any further forward, but at least I can do one...

Aha! Once you've done one, you've done them all! Thats jolly handy to know.... but I've done the two lunchtime ones, and I can't believe I'll be paid for such aimless wittering. Knowing I'm being taped is really bad for me, I'm afraid. If I do get paid, I'll be really really surprised, but if I don't then yet again I'll be swearing off this taped-phone-call thing, its unbearable.

Thanks to all that lot, I've done a *tiny* amount of work on my accounts, and I've realised *quite* how much has to be done, especially with things like all the cashback/wheeler dealering going on nowadays in my mse adventures.... I'm going to be up till 2am every night, at this rate.

  • Well it does sound nerveracking, i used to do cold calling years ago selling insurance and it helped if there were a few people egging you on, team spirit and all ..maybe we can be your phone support group and set you little incentives for the phonecalls..
    :money:
    1 phone call...jaffa cake
2 phone calls...working off jaffa cakes by running on spot
3 phonecalls..two jaffas, because you have really earned it..............:rotfl:
    4 phonecalls...nearer to your debtfree date:T

Thanks for the jaffa cakes, Bob! Been missing you on the boards, just off now to have a looksee for your thread.

The phone calls - the 3rd one wouldn't do the thing it needs to do in their system, and cos I'd already done two, they believed me, so its rescheduled for tomorrow. I still have *that* joy to come. Ah well, its another fiver. I'll have earned it...

    Hi folks!

Right. Today, I have to do the leftover phone mystery shop - lets just hope that the system wants to work. Had some very nice chatty emails from the m.s. company concerned, so I'm not too worried about what I've done now.

I finally *did* do a proper amount of work on my accounts - but there are *four* income streams now - my normal work, the French apartment (which is a negative income stream, sad to say), mystery shopping and amazon sales. Plus I'll have to check if cashback is counted as income, I can't see that it would be, but no point having the IR take me to court. Does anybody on here know?

Of course, the proper amount of work has left me behind on the ebay challenge again, so I have ten to list today. And I do want to sit with the trading for a little while, I certainly want to get back into it.

And if the weather is as nice as the forecasters say, it would be nice to get my exercise by going out into the garden. And I do want to try to nab at least one mystery shop for London tomorrow - must remember to do that deal in The Independent too.

If you are talking about the voucher for free food in the Indie, my OH has been doing this and says it is well worth it!

What is the deal in the Independent?

Hiya, yes I am talking about that! Seaxwyn, you buy The Independent for £1 and there's a voucher for a filled baguette and a drink at Upper Crust, at most railway stations. Its in Martin's latest email, and there's a list of what stations have an Upper Crust. It'll save me quite a bit of time tomorrow.
