:rotfl: I thought I wouldn't use the "perry" word cos it was too tooo, especially with all the youngsters out there! But I tell you, back in the 1970s, there was a pub somewhere in Gloucestershire that *only* sold cider and perry, all of it locally produced. My first fiance belonged to a family down there that had their own orchard, and made both - he had been known to not be able to get back to the house from the cider press :rotfl: those were good days!
And also in my defence, the French - around Brittany anyway - they don't call it a variant of perry, they call it cidre poire (or poire cidre, can't remember)
And the cava I drink, I'll have you know, costs all of £3.76, its Tesco's own    :rotfl:
I think I'll shut up before I incriminate myself further
GTD - the signal- the signal came and went at 8am on the ftse, 8.05am on the sterling/dollar cross, accurate on both, tho I wouldn't have been able to do both. Profit on the ftse would have been 15 points. Did I do it? Did I thump, as we used to say.
Monday morning. Lots of therapy work ahead. I'm going to forgive myself this morning, and I won't be able to *concentrate* until tomorrow now, too much work on today, but I have to press the button soon, I'm going to lose the s*dding NatWest money otherwise....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
PS - I'm doing myself down with 8am trade, actually - I've made a decision not to do the 8am stuff. It usually works the same as other times, but in these volatile days, it *can* go crazy - 30 points opposite from the signal is quite normal on those days. And you don't really know when those days are going to be. So I'd have done the 8.05 currency trade, which was (conservatively) 20 points profit in ten minutes. And at £10 a point that would be me done for the day! Except I'm not, cos I didn't do it....2023: the year I get to buy a car0

hi Karma just catching up on your diary after busy spell. How was the perry?! (another showing her age! :rotfl:). Am watching the trading with anticipation - am in awe that 1. you understand it and 2. you can make money out of it - the 30 secs it took me to lose 30p on vodafone was enough for me - nerve wracking!
Good luck with it and may you always be in profit!0 -
Thanks Mizmir! I didn't open the perry yet after all that!
The trading - well, I understand the fear - after all, with all these years of study at it (and the charts are beautiful things, they really are) and cos of the fear I'm not *actually* making money out of it :rotfl:
I've just managed to verify my moneybookers account, so should now be able to get on with the euro matched betting. Won't be today tho, too much of 1st job going on, 2pm - late :money:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

You know, I did wonder what the difference between 'pear cider' and perry was.. obviously there is none! I guess 'pear cider' just sounds new and trendyDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Exactly! Its a marketing ploy - to attract the young and exclude the "old"!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I think there is a difference between perry and pear cider. Perry is made from perry pears and is only made in Herefordshire and Worcestershire (although Gloucestershire tends to jump on the bandwagon these days). Perry pears are often called black pears which are grown in Worcestershire (the coat of arms has pictures of perry pears on it).
Pear cider is made from ordinary pears in much the same way as cider is made from ordinary apples.
I love proper Worcestershire Perry and am not keen on pear cider (I hate the fact too that they sell it in a pint glass - I am a lady and won't be seen dead with a pint pot:mad: ).
Hope this clarifies the situation:D
Don't you just love it when you go into a pub these days and ask for a glass of perry - they look at you as though you are mad and yet they sell pear cider:rotfl:0
