He doesn't get to be in control of the unfolding of legal proceedings which he started. Get in touch with the solicitors and be stern!

You were asking on EH's thread about a recipe for sweet potato Dal? I use this recipe which cooks in the oven, you can use all sweet pots instead of carrots or a mix of the two or even a squash. I make a big tray then freeze over half of it.
Roasting tray dal with masala carrots recipe / Riverford
There's also this version which is made using both the oven and a pan on the hob;
Masala roast carrots with coconut red lentil dal recipe / Riverford
I prefer the 'bung it all in a tray' version as it only needs checking a couple of times.

Thanks @teapot2 they look good!
Wise people of t’internet I’m after some advice. I had my meeting today with the new manager and signed my zero hours contract (my choice) however I’m not sure it was the best decision now.
A new person has started who is full time. They have got what would’ve been my shifts this month. I sort of understand that he needs to fulfill his hours and that’s at my expense. However I received a phone call this afternoon from the manager to see if I could do Thursday and Friday shifts and show the new person the ropes. The irony is I’m training them to take my shifts…..Thoughts?

Oh that is tricky. If you need the money sharpish that you'd get from the Thurs and Fri shifts then take the money and focus on that. If you don't have pressing need for that money and are confident more shifts will be forthcoming, then to be honest I'd politely unfortunately have unmovable other commitments on those days, what with medical stuff, pet stuff, solicitor stuff, family stuff, laying in bed with a book and a bag of maltesers stuff
Obviously you'll be kind and decent to full time person when you're there, but no point putting yourself out of a job at the first opportunity

I’ve had a chat with my sister and I’m going to call tomorrow. Going to play it along the lines of I might be missing the point but can you confirm if I’m going to get any shifts going forwards and you have to see it from my point of view that it looks like I haven’t got a job…..
Im also contemplating contacting another place that might be needing staff.

Having a conversation will be helpful but be prepared with what you want to answer about those shifts, because as you've signed a zero hours contract they aren't obliged to offer you any shifts so judge accordingly based on your knowledge of how likely they'll be to give you more

I might be not understanding this correctly but my understanding of a zero hours contract is that it is possible you might not get any shifts offered over periods of time as there is no commitment on the employers part to definitely offer work?

I'm not up to date but I thought zero hours contracts were on the way out?
I'm also aware that I don't know which job this is and how much you rely on the income but what you wanted was possibly a minimum number of hours?
