Oh goodness it's a tricky one. I might have my timings wrong but was your granddaughter born relatively early in her parents' relationship?
in the short term I would try to avoid face book as it seems to be dil's domain and is likely to make you upset.
Rather than give clothes that don't seem to be worn, could you bring yourself to put that money into savings for your granddaughter when she is older? Although it's a long wait the money could be used for fun times with you and dgd when her mum doesn't need to be involved.
will ponder some more and see if I can offer any more input.
sorry you are feeling sad. X3 -
Hi BC. I’ve already opened an account and put so much in per month. Yes they haven’t been together long. I’m feeling better today, even though it’s her actual bday today. I guess it is what it is, I do think it’s deliberate.DS2 arrived safely and sat down with his notebook to list the jobs that need doing.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

I do think girls tend to stick with their own mums over MILs, I know I did. It was partly a mileage thing (MiL was over 200 miles away) but also feeling more comfortable with my own family. We did visit my DH's family regularly though, even travelling up on Christmas Day to see them on a few occasions.
I don't think I would stop looking at FB, just because you would miss seeing photos of your DGD and it would feel like cutting your nose off to spite your face. I would put my own photos of DGD on with family in future and tag them and your DS1's partner, so that she (and possibly her FB friends) could see that you do actually exist. Could you put a wee photo of your DGD on FB today wishing her a happy 2nd birthday and tag everyone??
I'm glad you're feeling better today, it's awful feeling like you're being deliberately left out.'A watched potato will never chit'...2 -
I'd be gutted too. Lucielle. It sounds difficult and disappointing.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for all your comments. I won’t stop looking at fb. I understand that she’s closer to her mum but to post 20 plus photos of mainly her family and zero of our side is pretty galling.Worked tonight, it went ok.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

So after reading about Martin and the pensions I too the plunge and tried to have a look. It reminded me that I I tried last time and couldn’t get in because it didn’t recognise me. So nearly an hour later I got through to someone and got a new gateway code and password (I think the one I was trying to log into was for the old business). On the national insurance it shows I have some part years but on the pension forecast it’s the full amount as per Martins information. So I’m a bit confused. I’ve left my number for them to call back. I think the partial years may have something to do with being self employed.Off to look at a house my neighbour is thinking of buying at dinner time. The great chimney breast removal starts tonight. Luckily for me I’m at work so I’ll be out the way. Dreading the dust and mess but needs must. Managed to find a plasterer to make it look pretty again. It’s actually stopped raining and the wind has dropped. It’s been vile since Tuesday
