I can confirm it’s definitely a bad hair day! Really struggled to open neighbours 5 barred gate!  Anyway all animogs fed, watered and mucked out. I’ve also bathed and hair washed and ready to go to work if I’m needed (still hoping not). Had chicken boob, stuffed with mozzarella and wrapped in bacon with new pots and veggies, stuffed now.
Tired, not sleeping well again. I just wish I could wake up feeling refreshed.

I'm not great at remembering names either.  Apparently it helps if you use the name when talking to the person which explains why some people seem to continually and frequently use your name in conversation.  And/or visualise a famous person with the same name and associate the new person with the famous person in your mind.

I think King Charles does that. I just feel like the men in black appear and use the flashy pen on me!  Work went better than I thought as it was only looking like 2 covers, however that turned into 8. Still blowing a hoolie out there.

Trip south and back went ok. Said our goodbyes to the dark overlord, new chapter begins. Still filled with trepidation but I’m hoping I’ve got options and some conversations to follow up.
DS1s surprise party went ok and he didn’t have a clue. It was lovely to see SIL and her daughter.
Dentist went ok, though did have to get a filling redone. Also had my trotters painted. That’s getting expensive so probably need to let OH paint them next time. I like having the pamper that goes alongside.
DS2 is travelling up today and staying for a while.

People of the internet, friends, followers, lurkers etc. I’m in need of some advice and a head wobble.
I’m struggling with my son’s partner and mum to DGD. When we found out we were going to be grandparents, we gifted them some money towards the things they needed. They said they’d purchase a pram with it. Perfect. I said to GF I would love to be involved as much or as little as she liked in the pregnancy etc. So her family went pram shopping and I was sent photos of them building it. It turned out to be very little involvement  Baby girl born (c section) in the early hours and we were given a time slot late afternoon the next day after all the other relatives had been. Fine we got to have a cuddle.
I went and stayed overnight a couple of weeks later and cooked lots of meals for them to freeze (no thanks, but hey-ho) About 6 months later DS1 got offered another job in the same area and he took it.
Since then GF spends roughly 3 days a week at her parents house with GD. They live hour and half away. Last year on DS1s b’day she didn’t come back for it and he was so upset. She wanted a horse, they got 2. She didn’t bother with them and was frightened of one of them (I’m not surprised he was scary). They managed to send them back.
However she has said she wants to move back to where they originally were. DS1 could have so many opportunities where he is. He has managed to get a job back ‘home’ but is gutted about it and taken a pay cut to move back.  I asked him how much time would be spent still at her parents house etc.
The other weekend DD2 called in. He’d been up since 3 sorting stock for the following day. Her parents had been to collect DGD as she was helping out as well. DS1 came in and started cooking lunch (she’d been home all day). She hadn’t joined any local toddler groups or made any attempt to make a life where they are.
Now here’s where I might be a bit petty. I have never received a card with grandma on it, the none generic Christmas card had my name spelt wrong, she’s known me for over 3 years.
This is where I need to put my big girl pants on. Anything that’s put on fb is of her family. We all went on holiday to Ibiza last year. Not one photo of me or OH with DGD and hardly any with the other siblings. I try not to feel hurt and asked DS1 if there was a problem and he said no. I did buy quite a few baby clothes in various sizes. I think she only wore 1 outfit. I don’t buy her clothes anymore.
That brings us onto this weekend. It was a surprise party for DS1. I asked if I could invite his aunties as I didn’t want to step on anyone’s toes and it was ok. Only SIL and 1 cousin could make it. I haven’t seen them since her husbands funeral 3 years ago. I made plans to do things on Sunday. Any way not long after I’d organised this, I got a message to say they were going to have a party on Sunday for DGDs 2nd birthday. I said we couldn’t make it because I’d made plans. Now I know SIL wouldn’t have minded going but I know we would’ve been overwhelmed by her family, as her parents were hosting it. The plan was her mum was going to bring her to the surprise party for an hour so we could see her then take her home. Her mum was poorly and couldn’t bring her. She was ok on the Sunday. Now the sceptic in me wonders if this was the case.
I got several messages the next day off DS1 asking me if we were going. We didn’t. DS2 went and said DS1 spent most of the time asleep and he was sat in the corner.
Photos have gone on FB of DS1s party not one of us.
I feel if we disappeared, we wouldn’t be missed. There’s various other things that have happened.
    Thoughts?

I hear you loud & clear. My DS has been with his GF for 12 years. It’s difficult. I don’t have any friends thoughts for you. I’m sorry.
