OOh exciting that you have an outer isles trip planned - when are you headed over and which island(s)? I'm assuming you are starting either with North Uist or Harris mind you, for ease of travel!

I came to the conclusion in the end that the headaches were related to the bash on the head I had in November, and they seem to have pretty much sorted themselves now anyway which is a relief. As it took me a while to get the replacement glasses sorted after that so I was using my old ones, I suspect that might also have had an effect!

Ouch to the poor pony - fingers crossed the drugs will help ease things, their feet can be so sensitive near the frog can't they, and of course the risk of infection too...I remember well trying to keep puncture wounds clean and dry!

Mmmm yes the Harris distillery is lovely - nice cafe too as I recall. I don't know Harris that well - we've had a few fleeting stops there over the years and there are some lovely walks not far from Tarbert. That said though, if you see nothing else then the beach at Luskentyre is an absolute must. (And if you're lucky the cake shed might be stocked and open too!) On a glorious day there is literally nowhere more incredible to be IMO. (And more so if there is cake)

Up on Lewis of course there are the Calanais (Callanish) stones which are well worth a visit, and the Dun Carloway broch is jaw dropping too. The blackhouse village (Gearannan I think?) is nice but for my money the single blackhouse with forms a museum at Arnol is better as it's more atmospheric. The beaches at Shawbost and Dalbeg are small but lovely too - and right between there there is a Norse Mill & Kiln which is only little but also fascinating. For bigger beaches then try Carnish, Valtos or Tolsta.

Luskentyre is breathtaking. There is a lay-by on the main road at Seilibost where you can look down across to Luskentyre and literally any time we drive through there I HAVE to stop...!

That’s the girls away, it’s going to be very quiet!  First load of washing in the machine. Hoping to get as much as possible dried on the line. Next weeks weather is payback for the 2 glorious weeks we’ve had!
My right thigh muscle is complaining about the walk we did, it will ease but certainly throbbing at the moment. Just the right one which is weird!
2 weeks and we’re down for the dark overlords retirement do and DS1s surprise 30th party. Then hopefully DS2 is coming up and we can get the chimney out.
OH has messaged the garage door company about coming to put new roller shutter doors in, waiting for them to reply. The local castle had a snowdrop open day and I saw these. Never seen ones like that before.
