The surprise visit to see my sister went very well. She said she had a feeling that morning it might be us but BIL kept her off the scent. We had a lovely weekend and we went to the theatre to see the Book of Mormon which we really enjoyed. It took us as long to get to her house from Gatwick as it did for us to fly from Inverness. That’s such a tiny airport. Left at midnight and arrived at 3.30. The airport was shut but opened just after 4.Dogs have been well looked after by dog sitter so that’s good. OH is off to Edinburgh for 4 days with work. So not sure when I’ll see another human

Paid for DD1s carpets. She’ll pay what she can this month and then pay me back monthly. They’re being fitted tomorrow and the cooker is coming on Thursday. Hopefully she can start to unpack boxes and start to make it a home. The boiler got fixed last week but she needs to start saving for a new one as the part it needed was obsolete luckily the fitter had one lying about.DS1 GF and DGD are on holibobs, looks like they’re having a good time. DS2 is abroad and they’ve changed the shift pattern to 4 on 4 off that’s a long time to to fill.OH made it to Edinburgh for his work conference. He’ll be home late Thursday. I cancelled my doctors appointment for today as the roads are bad. Glad I did as it’s snowing.DD2s house still not through. Not sure if it was the land registry or the sellers solicitors that messed up and got some legal thing lifted off the wrong address. It’s back to the drawing board for them but it does mean that the boiler service is going ahead next week.My sister gave me lots of things for them. It did mean I had to pay £40 to put another bag in the hold. I might be going to head office at the beginning of February so I can take them then.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013

That view is utterly beautiful.
Time restricted eating is a relatively easy tweak to make and seems to have good results.1 -
What an amazing view to have every work day! Awesome.

Gorgeous view - I knew Uist had snow today and assumed you might have done too, looks like quite a covering too!On the food and exercise thing - finding movement you enjoy is huge. If you hate going to the gym, making yourself go isn’t likely to be sustainable and you’d probably just give up, for example. You enjoy your badminton - can you do that more often as a starting point? And is it the camaraderie of it - that it involves other people - that’s the winner for you? If so, what else could you think of to do that might give the same feel-good vibes?Detoxing is a bit of a myth - it’s much loved by the diet industry as it pretty much guarantees a weight loss in the first week of a diet but it’s fairly likely to just be temporary - if you “detoxed” then returned to eating as you did before, the weight you’ve shed would go pretty much straight back on. Our bodies are already designed to detox us though - our liver, kidneys, lungs and even our skin are all working away all the time to ensure that the things that shouldn’t be hanging around in our systems depart, pronto! Time restricted eating too - it works for some people as a weight loss tool because it stops them snacking - but not everyone is a snacker, and of you’re not, then you either end up still eating your “usual” food but in a slightly more compressed window, or you’re into the territory of skipping meals which is often not a great idea otherwise. It might be worth having a think about your portion sizes - those creeping up can often result in a steady weight gain, and if you think that has happened, you can gently decrease them again week on week - meaning you don’t end up feeling deprived or hungry because your body gets used to the smaller portions gradually. You can also think about adding in more fruits and veggies - you’ve probably already got a pretty shrewd idea whether your existing diet is as balanced as it would ideally be, and if not, that’s something else to work on. Ultimately - “eat a bit less, move a bit more” is horribly reductionist, and doesn’t take account of whether it is practical for someone to “move more” - but if you are able to do both things, it does work!SH is spot on about being kinder to yourself too - you wouldn’t tell your best friend, or daughter the things you’ve said about yourself there would you? Be as kind in your language around yourself as you would be to others - not always easy, but helpful.
As for the clothes, for goodness sake just get some that fit - even if just a few basic items - you will feel more comfortable, and you absolutely deserve to not feel as though your clothes are strangling you on a daily basis!Delighted that the surprise went well - it sounds like a good time was had! What a nightmare about DD2’s house though - although as you say the boiler service will be an advantage.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We’ve had more snow overnight. So pleased I don’t have to go anywhere. OH is hoping to travel back tomorrow along with his workmates. It’ll be down to the coach driver to get them back. It’s carpet day for DD1 and she can’t wait. DD2 is in attendance to move stuff around so the fitters can crack on whilst DD1 works from home.Portion control is a big one and does need looking at. I’m so used to cooking for 6 that I find it hard to judge how much. I had great plans to do walks at dinner time but the snow has put that off.I do enjoy badders as it doesn’t feel like exercise. It wasn’t on this week due to the weather. Hoping to go to yoga again but not this week as the dogs are at the groomers.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013
