I’ve actually had a decentish nights sleep without any Nytol. I wish every night could be like this and I wake up feeling human!
I’ve got my shifts for the b&b Wednesday, Friday & Saturday evenings with a slightly earlier start on Fridays and Saturdays. Can’t believe it’s come round so quickly. My other work have said yes to me working Thursdays but haven’t actually provided any work as yet, so I’m still at 3 days.
Dogs were at the groomers last Saturday and they still look nice and fluffy. Must try and give them a quick brush today if there’s a good weather window.
Got to go to head office on 8 February and I’ll be down just over a week. I’ve booked my car in for a service, hoping DD2 can change her day off then we can go and play whilst it’s in. I need to book the sports massage man as my shoulder and arm are a bit ouchy so hopefully he can work his magic. I’ll also try and meet up with the old badders crowd and get a couple of matches in and maybe some lubrication in at the pub!  Potentially meet up and see DGD as well. DS2 asked it I’d crochet a blanket for his friend in NZ who’s had a baby girl. I’ve managed to pinch some squares from one I was doing for a baby boy and I’ve done enough now, it just needs crocheting together, I’ll probably start that today as I need to watch it on YouTube as I forget how to do it. I thought if I do that during the day whilst OH is away and then crack on with boy squares at night when he’s home.
One of the dogs is at the vets tomorrow for her boosters. She’s also on tablets for her waterworks which are working so we’ll need to get some more of those. We’ll go to the co-op and I’ll use my dividend up, I think there’s £21 to use. Just need some veg and eggs.

    50 mile challenge sounds good.

Hope you are feeling better in  yourself. With the move and then the recent bad weather - combined with pain - it's no surprise you aren't feeling at your best.

Hope SIL's operation can be done sooner as that seems ridiculous. Surely it will start to heal and need to be re-broken?

Just had a message off SIL, it should be Monday. DD2 is hoping to complete and exchange on Friday. DD1 will help on Friday night when she’s finished work. PBS not looking very healthy as I’ve withdrawn her deposit ready to send to the solicitors when it hits my account.
I think the dog enjoyed being an only dog today after the trauma of being at the vets. She joined us for coffee and cake and then came to the pub for lunch. Used up all my coop dividends. I couldn’t believe how little I got for my spends. Got some friends coming for lunch tomorrow, so came home and we hoovered and mopped. Just need to put the duster round and we should be done.

Glad the date has been moved forward for SIL.

Good news for DD - all systems go by the sound of things.

  • Very glad to hear the op date has been sorted for your SIL - I think if it were me I’d have been questioning whether it needed doing at all if it could wait a fortnight!

Good news for DD2 as well - fingers crossed it all goes well for her now!

It’s windy again!  My sisters 60th, I’ve put a suitable post on fb along with a hideous photo (which she’ll hate, mwahhh)
Lunch yesterday went very well. I made beef bourginon (sp) ( better known in our house as beef !!!!!! off) with new potatoes, roasties, carrots and green beans followed by saucy lemon pudding. I made my friend a fruit salad as she’s got gall bladder problems.
I did have a funny turn later in the evening, went very, very hot and had very painful stomach pains.  Being a drama queen did wonder if it was my appendix. It went after about an hour and a half.
Need to sit down and look at finances today as we’ve both been paid.
I did see a job I was potentially interested in but I’ve talked myself out of it. It was being a vets receptionist, 40 hours pw. It would mean travelling, leaving my own pooches etc

Love the hideous photo idea! My sisters would kill me if I did that.

Glad the pains went. Sounds scary especially if you are not close to a doctor / hospital.

Well I made a monumental c0ck up this week.  I dutifully paid my tax and then dutifully paid OHs tax, with my reference on it!!!!  As soon as I hit the pay button I knew it was wrong.  I phoned the bank to recall the payment, they said they would do it but could take 20 days to get the money returned.  I tried for over an hour to get through to HMRC but no joy.  Yesterday morning I managed to get into the queue and after 45 minutes spoke to somebody.  The upshot was they couldn't do anything as OH was at work and couldn't verify himself.  So between my accountant and me we've set up a repayment plan to start at the end of February and hopefully the funds will be returned to the account and it can be paid off before it starts.  I'm still so cross with myself and when I told OH what I'd done his answer was 'well you'll never get the back'  I think he can do his own payments in future!

The wind is back with a vengeance, howling around outside.  Monday was a gorgeous day and I got 2 loads of washing dry including bedding.  I even managed to get the girls out for half an hours walk at dinnertime.  I think if I took them out today they'd blow away, I could put some string round their legs and fly them like kites.

I went to stichin' and one of the ladies gave me some white wool as I'd run out.  Just finished the girl blanket, joined the last 2 squares last night.  This one is my favourite so far, if I remember I'll post a pic.  So I'm back to doing the boy one, the baby shower is this weekend.  Going to do my best to get it done but its going to be tight as I go south next Thursday.

Everything is in place for DD2 to complete and exchange on Friday.  She's a funny bunny and not planning on staying over until Monday, she got all sorts of superstitions why it can't be the weekend.  One of them is to do with fishing, I did point out that she wasn't a fisherperson (is that a word?)

OH had to come home a different way last night as there had been a really nasty accident, the air ambulance had been called.  It meant he had to come through the town and he got a takeaway, it was still warm enough to eat when he got home.  It was eye poppingly expensive (£50) so that won't be happening very often (not that it does) My weekly shopping budget is £80.  We were going to use the co-op for next weeks shopping then he's got easy stuff to cook but we've decided to do a Morrisons click and collect, which I'm hoping he'll remember to get on Monday night.  For some reason my M&S credit card has stopped working online, I need to phone them to find out why.  I tried it for a couple of things off Ebay and it wouldn't go through for Morrisons.  Strange its worked before and it hasn't expired.

Ahh the delights of island living and the limited lure of the takeaway! I can identify with the "still warm" novelty as well!

Might you need to use the CC in an actual shop to reactivate it?
