Beanie's idea is a good one - you are in a position now where prioritising quality of life in the longer term might be more important to you than prioritising money. there is no amount of dosh in the world that could now persuade me to give up my Fridays off these days, for example! Allowing that you already know that your B&B work is going to dry up over the winter (if I'm remembering that correctly?) it's a good chance to see how you feel about doing the extra day in the other job.

  • Just catching up on diaries.  Sorry to read of DS2’s heartbreak and DD1’s house issue. Hopefully builders will be able to fix the house issue.

Glad that you have been able to get the cowl sorted out.

I would be tempted to take the extra day’s work. Working in a role that is seasonal is has its drawbacks.  I swopped areas in Job 2  because the hours were more consistent year round and it stopped my income fluctuating through the winter time.

Gave my head a wobble and will probably do the 4 days but ask if they can be flexible as OH works 4 on 2 off, so we get a bit of time together and probably start it from January when the new leave year kicks in as HR are useless at working out leave.
Had my first disaster with the air fryer last night. I cooked a whole chicken in it and it just wasn’t right. Decided the dogs would benefit better from it. Speaking of which had them to the vets today to be signed up. 1 of them mentioning no names (Isla) decided to poo on the floor!  Trying to clean it up holding 3 beardies who didn’t want to be there was a tad awkward. Anyway going forwards it looks like it’s going to cost £50 per month just for tick and flea treatment. Ouch!  Dare not give it to them as ticks are rife.
DS2 is on his way back. His car passed the MOT with no advisories, so that was good. He’s off to a ball at the weekend and it’ll be the first time he’s seen the ex gf.
DD1s house looks like it might complete soon. Still needs to chase the builder re the floor. Seller is getting the boiler serviced this week.

Sometimes you can still get cheaper getting the prescription required from your vet and then ordering online
