OH left the lights on Gary Golf and came out of work to a flat battery. Luckily the coffee shop chaps had some jump leads and got him going. The upside to this, is it seems to have cleared the engine management light off. Silver linings and all that.
I had a b&b shift yesterday, it was very quiet. Made some soup and cooked some ham. Spent the rest of the time cleaning cupboards and I was glad when 5 o’clock rolled round. I think the funeral will be on Friday, should get confirmation on Monday. DD1 is going to come up Tuesday night and work from here the rest of the week.
Hoping to go to yoga today and maybe have another bash at a block granny square and hope it is more like a square than my last attempt. Also might crank the log splitter up and do the last of the logs.

Went to yoga and it was a different teacher, it was ok. Log splitter has decided not to work for some reason.
DD1 had been on the phone really upset. She’s had the carpet fitters out to measure up and they’ve lifted the carpet in the bedroom and have told her the ceiling joist has rotted, probably due to a leaking radiator. Managed to calm her down and said to get a couple of quotes off builders to see how much it might be. The silver lining is no money has changed hands, not that she wants to walk away but can if needs be.

Good to find out ahead of time that there are issues for DD's new house. She might be able to get the money knocked off the purchase or have them replace it.

Glad you managed to resolve the car issues - sounds eventful.

Good that you were able to go to badders and yoga. The latter is hard but can offer huge benefits with retaining/increasing flexibility as we get older. It's good for the mind too. Just go at your own pace. I need to make myself rejoin an equivalent. I'm putting it off until after the move. Just going with art class for now to give my weeks some more structure.

Going to the beach and then cake after sounds a perfect tonic.

Not really sure what to do SH as they’ve already knocked 15k off the asking. You sound like you’re making the most of your time away, good for you.

My day just gets better. Just had a very, very upset DS2 on the phone. He’s still abroad working and his GF has split up with him.  We didn’t think things were right when we were down.

On the joist - it depends whether it is one or all of them that have an issue. Has she organised a decent survey?

On DS2 it sounds sad - hard when our kids are struggling/upset.

Yes it was mentioned that the floor was uneven   We went for a mid range survey. Just wait and see what the builders say.
Yes, I wish I could help DS2 to feel better. Just needs time.

DS2 is nursing a poorly head as well as a heart. DD1 might be a bit ropey as well. OH managed to get the log splitter to work after a bit of persuasion with a lump hammer, so I may split some logs. The garage door is a bit dodgy and as it’s windy could potentially drop on my head so I’ll assess before venturing in.
I did make a double batch of hobnobs yesterday, so I’ll freeze some before we scoff all of them. Got a shift this afternoon

It's very hard when our grown up children are struggling.  As you say time will slowly make it easier for DS.

I like Attic24 for crochet inspiration and instruction.  Her colour choices are lovely.  @CRANKY40 made a beautiful ripple blanket and kindly shared a photo on their thread.  There is a tutorial for ripple stitch somewhere on Attic24.
