£36 spent yesterday & today, between a very swift dive into L!dls for butter when passing a branch on another errand, and the market this morning. Actually a little less, but I lost track of the pennies somehow! Which leaves me £49.53 to get through to payday next Thursday, which looks do-able from here... hopefully that's not famous last words! I may spend a little more on Sunday, but may not have the time, and there's still plenty in the freezer...

Ginmonster I also took full advantage of the broccoli offer! They also had cantaloupes at half price at 90p the other day!

  • Good morning everyone
beautiful day here although a little chilly. I thought spring might have arrived until someone told me we might have a white Easter.:(
I called in this morning and ordered my new fridge freezer to be delivered during the Easter holidays.:j
Quite proud of myself as M&S is quite near electrical shop but I drove past it and wasn't tempted.
Called in at Ald+ instead which suited my end of month budget much better. So £17+ spent which included a joint at £7+. Also bacon and pork loin steaks. Also bran flakes, bananas, oranges, leeks, potatoes and carrots.
I think I got a lot for my money. I now have just over £20 left to last me until the end of the month.
However next month I will have to start stocking up my new freezer.:)
  • Currently at £198/£200

I'm happy with that as I've done a Costco shop that should last into next month and the big eating son is home from Uni.
I'm going to see if I can last until 28th now.

A quick stop off at L1dl this morning to pick up some of the weekend special ham and a bag of rocket = £1.64 taking my total so far to £55.16. Only leaves me £4.84 till the end of the month

I do have a good selection of fresh, tinned and frozen F&V so I should only have to buy a small loaf, some flatbreads or wraps and maybe some Greek yoghurt this week. Coffee is getting a bit low, but I do have some ground and ½ a jar of expresso lurking in the cupboard too, so hopefully that will keep me going for the week.

Just drawn up my meal plan using what I have in the freezer for my main meals =
    Sat – Moussaka
    Sun – Spicy king prawns
    Mon – Turkey Fricassee
    Tues – Melanzane Parmigiana
Wed – Pork & Black Bean Chilli
    Thurs – Breaded Haddock
    Fri – Chicken Fajitas
    Sat – Lentil Bolognaise

I have a couple of sweet potatoes that need using so I’ll make a lentil and sweet potato pate which will be good for breakfast or lunch. I’ll have the ham I bought today with the salad stuff already in the fridge, I got a YS watermelon the other day so with the feta I already have that will make a nice refreshing salad for a couple of lunches.

That's the plan anyway - see if I can stick to it :D
    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £22.18
  • Mahoosive shop done today.. Had a msg from Sainsbobs informing me of £60+ worth of points so I decided today to take full advantage and use them to get a good stock up done.:j

Total now reads at £256.47 out of £300. I think we will definately come in under this month :T

Eek! Another big one at Mr T today at £76.77.

I stockpiled a few staples like wine (25% of 6 bottles and yes, it is a staple in my house!) and low fat condensed milk (£1 instead of £1.70 a tin; makes flap jacks which are my staple coffee break snack).
Also got some YS fish (smoked and unsmoked cod, willmake a lovely fish pie!).

Total £272.60 so £27.40 left
Can't even cheat and shop Sunday next weekend to tip me into April :D as nowhere will be open!

I think I may have to up it to £350 again but will try for £300 for another month first.

Since last post we have spent £9.74.

    Me - £69.88/£77.50. £7.62 left.
    OH - £42.31/£77.50. £35.19 left.
    Total - £112.19/£155. £42.81 left.

I really don't need to buy anything but bananas and grapes for the rest of the month now.
I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy :D
