House number envy

Our current house has only a name, is not visible from the road and is half a mile from where satnav takes anyone using the postcode to find us. I am adept at giving out straightforward directions, although some people seem to think they know better and try without following the directions, and of course often the customer services departments of businesses fail to pass on the directions to the drivers. We give out prizes to anyone who finds us without having to ring and get directions from us again. At one time the house did have a number, but it was not sequential with numbers on the road so not much use.0

I live at number 1! I think there are 30 or so in our street. But soon (I hope) we are moving to a house with just a name, no number. Which is quite annoying because when people go to find it they can't reference any numbers to see where it is. So I will have to tell them it's third house on the right and oh, also it's painted marshmallow pink :-)Save £12k in 2018 #130 - £1200/£7,0000

So will while putting the world to rights last night in the pub with my cronies this daft assertion was made
Single digit house numbers are classier than 2 or 3 digit house numbers
Now as I am moving from no 4 to no 108 do I need to remove the wheels from my car and place on blocks and keep the fridge at the side of the house in future ?
We lived at No 1 as I grew up. Still ended up sometimes coming out and having two wheels left on the car or the car itself missing.0 -
A little bit of snob in me agrees lol. I was always disappointed when I viewed houses with more than 2 numbers. I even lived at one
I'm a bit weird in that I love a 3 in my number somewhere, or it has to be divisible by 3 or somehow make a 3 (like 14 where you can take the 1 from the 4). Seriously coincidental that half of mine have actually the number 3!
I have bought at:

That’s a lot of houses.0 -
That!!!8217;s a lot of houses.
Weirdly just noticed the first four were odd numbers, the latter four have been even.
First two were flats.
Unluckiest house was number 18. Not far behind was number 207. Can't see any connection, but who knows. Numbers are strange things. I see patterns in lots of things and always count things!

I've always wanted to live in a number 13. It is my lucky number.
Not managed it so far. Currently, in a number five but, fingers crossed, moving to a house with only a name.0 -
We don't have a road name, let alone a number.
Same hereOur full official Royal Mail address is housename, village, next village, county, postcode.
Ours is house name, village (for which there are no signs but it appears on maps:cool:), small market town, postcode.
For some reason, the owner before our vendors, decided to call his new home by the same name. Idiot only moved a couple of miles away so his postcode is xx11 9xx, and ours is xx11 8xx:(0 -
