Well today - at urging from my boss - I worked a longer day. I ended up taking all my pain meds early - my leg was back to being on fire and has taken hours to calm down. At least I have a fresh update to give the consultant and OHU about my current pain, what sets it off and what adjustments I need. Work understandably want things to get back to normal - but it doesn't look like that's possible. I also need advice on how much pain med to take - if I really am going to go back to full time work (if it is even advisable). DS tried to get referred today but failed - given him more info to go back with.

It kind of improved slightly around 9pm but I'm back in pain properly now. Took 1200mg today. The consultant appointment had better go well as right now I just want to scream.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

What's the max you're allowed to take? If you're below it take some more and try to get some rest. Think you need to get an emergency appointment.... and stop being a slave to work. Your boss doesn't have to put up with the pain, and possible long term damage, when she's pressuring you to come into work. Time to put yourself first. ((hugs))I Believe.....

Thanks all. Finally got to sleep around 2.30am. Thankfully my appointment is this morning. Just eating porridge, then finish getting ready. DH needs to take DD to school as her bike didn't charge - it had apparently been switched off at the wall. Pretty much when he returns it will be time to go.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Exhausted now. Consultant was nice. Thinks physio is right. I had 4 x rays on leg and ankle - they were clear. Next step is MRI if that doesn't show anything after that would probably need to be referred to a different hospital for pressure testing. Just walking around and him squeezing me leg was excruciating. I now need to ring GP to get more meds. Later DH is going to take me to OHU as I don't feel up to driving. DD 'threw here toys out the pram' - and DH is going to pick her up before my OHU appointment. I'm debating going for a nap. I now have an 8 week fit note saying I may be fit for some duties on reduced hours etc - so hopefully that will help at work as my 4 week one had run out.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

OHU were very supportive and have written a note - supporting my position that I can work part time or go off sick and that given there is no formal diagnosis or treatment plan in place yet that this could go on for some time - and that i need reduced travel and more home working. Will be interesting to see what response I get from that tomorrow. I need to go in for a meeting I'm running and then I plan to do some work from home. Dropped in at GP - duty doc hasn't seen my request for meds yet - so told to ring after 5.30 - and potentially go back before 6pm. OHU said would be safe to take 50% more meds than I am - but important to go up slowly to avoid reaching a pain-free but non-functional point. Need GP to agree. Need to book proper appointment at some point but wiped today. Still potentially need to go back to surgery....
I promise to post some money news soon. Basically we are over-spending compared to budget but without going into extra debt. We are just not saving or paying off as much as normal.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
