Thanks DIA.
Worked a short day today - but may catch up an hour or so on Sunday to do a piece of work that I didn't get completed.
You can probably all tell the pain is more under control - and I am feeling much better in myself. Gym appointment went smoothly - DH and I went together - and DD did her exercise while we were having our induction/set up chat. So we now have a 12 week membership each and a promise of a reduced rate thereafter. I decided to go swimming / do water exercises. I managed 10 lengths - 250m. Didn't want to over-do it. Enjoyed it. Wasn't as busy as expected given I swam around 5pm on a Friday. New tankini - a black and white one - I bought a few weeks ago was really comfortable. I weighed 2lb less than New Year's Day - so that 2/14lb annual target achieved and reasonably maintained. Especially given that on New Year's Day I wore lighter clothes... Ideally I want to go back tomorrow and use the gym / pool as a focus for my recovery. When we toured the gym I was reminded that I could use a leg machine for my 'good' leg. I could also use the arm weight machines....
Tonight I looked at my leg and it looked like it had really swollen but when we put tape around it - it seems to have been a bit of an optical illusion as it was similar to the other one. DH's BP was 150/100 which is unusually high for him but he has been up early all week and irritable with it so it may be connected. Mine was high for me at 133/90 but better than his - which is surprising given that I weigh more. I had some salad 3 days on the run. I've been eating clementines, apples and bananas more. Hoping to sort diet out gradually. The main thing I need to do is reduce junk food - not easy though as they are a crutch.
MF suggested getting some sort of drying/display rack for my canvases. Found a brilliant wooden plate rack on Amaz** for £5.99 which will hold about 12 small canvases - separated by wooden dowels. Really pleased with it and will get some more (after payday out of my personal spends). They will help with tidiness now - and be good for displaying pictures if I had a stall. I feel overall with my pain now more under control that it has been a really positive end to the week. I've done most of the form I need for my assessment at the end of the month. I'm hoping to do a final review and then send it Monday. I still need to write down what I want to say on Tuesday.

Having checked those blood pressures on the nhs website - glad that we are taking action. DH is in the red on their chart and mine is at the top of amber. The gym will retake our BP in 6 weeks to see whether our 'lifestyle' changes have improved it. Will warn DH that he now classes as high BP and either he or both of us will end up on meds if don't resolve itAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks HSL I loved being in the pool - I felt light and free. No ill effects from it today or last night so thrilled about that. DD has also come downstairs really (unusually) happy. She got about 11 hours deep sleep last night and is feeling much better. I'm therefore going to drop her at the gym - at her request - on my way to the hairdresser. In other positive news - both our health insurance type companies have repaid their part of the optical bill so now £240 is back in our coffers. Feeling really positive today too. I have a magazine to take to the hairdresser - feeling good. I need to get some cash out on the way.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That is really good news about the swimming SH, it does make you feel alive.
Hairdressers sounds like a plan, especially having your own magazine to read.
It's great the insurance has paid out quickly, but I expect that type of insurer is used to quickly processing everything.

Hi MF - so have you made it to the gym yet? I am hoping to go again tomorrow.
Pleased with my hair - and reading was really relaxing. DS has got 4 shifts next week which will help his £ situation. He is going to his GP on Monday to try and get referred for ADHD. He's convinced that he is - having now done a load of research. I think he is too - time will tell. DD took the dog for a walk today which was a major step forward - she is mostly too anxious to go out alone - so really chuffed with her. She also made us lunch and helped with the washing so feeling blessed.
DH took me to a shop B'n'M where I got some food and cheap paint. Bought more pouring medium off the net - effectively spending most of next payday's personal spend now.... I want to do more acrylic pouring and I'd run out of both my favourite pouring medium and some colours of paints. It should come tomorrow so hopefully at some point I will get to play some more. I will need to temporarily move some money from savings.
Pain has been a little higher tonight but not anywhere near the levels it was earlier in the week. So grateful I get to see a consultant this week. Really hope I get some answers - or at least referred for tests. I hate being out of control. Need things to resolve soon. My head it getting clearer which is good - however it is in danger of starting to worry about my assessment towards the end of March. This could be a month of answers! Been waiting for some of them my whole life - it feels weird to be so close and still so far.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I haven't been swimming yet as I'm waiting until I move. The baths are a lot cheaper where I'm moving to than where I am. Also a lot closer!
Glad you enjoyed your pamper.
That's great news for DS. Having a bit of money coming in, even as a one off, boosts confidence. Let's hope his GP does the referral. Is really as easy as just asking to be referred and not jumping through hoops at the surgery?
Have you looked at HC for your medium? Nothing wrong in spending a budget in advance, you will have something to show for it.
Good luck with your month of answers, I'm sure everything will become clearer and plans can be made.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -

Thanks MF and JWIL.
Today - DH peeled the potatoes - so I made a beautiful roast chicken dinner with lots of veg. Tasty. DD actually helped - so miracles are real. DD and I let lunch go down - then I took her to the gym and I went swimming again. Did 14 lengths this time - didn't want to overdo it. I came back and mixed my paints and did 3 paintings large 50x40cm, medium, small. I love them. They remain the best pain relief! I also updated my online shopping order for tomorrow to include more things in case that virus strikes! I feel I am going into the coming week with things more under control which is good. I've emailed my assessment - so now DH wants me to write him a summary so he can get assessed at some point.... Men!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
