Today my cleaner comes so order will be restored which always makes me feel better. Pooch will get a walk. I'm working from home so all is good in the world. DH has an eye test this afternoon - but can claim a lot of the cost back. Moved some money around. I have another CC going out this week - think it must be tomorrow. Light and bright here today so hoping it doesn't rain. Have a good day allAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well taking the new level of painkillers is definitely helping and our cleaner is ace despite us being her messiest clients! Had an okay day working from home. Swapped my day off this week to tomorrow so I can go in for a brief meeting on Friday. DS now coming home briefly tomorrow to speak to the bank so suits me. DH has just spent £328 on new glasses at the highest spec the optician offered - and he paid extra for 3D imaging of his eye. He can get £190 back but still an ouch moment! My expenses have been approved so will get them on payday and my glasses £50 should come by early next week. His glasses claim has already been approved and again should come back in before my last CC payment (about £180ish) goes out just before payday. Will need to move some money from savings. Don't know why he couldn't have waited an extra week until after payday but there we are.
It's been an expensive month - with 2 lots of glasses for me and DH and 1 lot of Personal Trainer costs for DD.She is also due her eye test! At least she still gets a contribution towards hers. I think I can claim back £50 of her optical costs. I checked if I could reclaim counselling but I can't. She still wants me to pay for counselling for her on top but for good or bad the one she chose hasn't contacted me since I sent him a message last week. I don't know what the cost of that would be - I imagine it could easily be £100 a month even if she saw him fortnightly. Perhaps I really should try applying for a PIP for her - feels too exhausting to do currently... She has an NHS appointment at the end of the month that I was due to take her but an hour away. Just realised will need to get DH to drive her to that. She then has a local one towards the back end of April... Is it wrong to hope that's enough? School welfare are pushing us to do more....
Tomorrow I want to spend some time with DS, I also want to plan out what to say at my appointment with the consultant next Tuesday - I am that person that needs to take a written list with me. I also need to fill in a pre-assessment questionnaire for a different appointment on 24/3. It's getting close now. I need a personal assistant for home I reckon then I would be sorted! I asked my cleaner again today whether she could put us up at the top of the list if she gets slots at the beginning and end of the week as we need the help especially at the moment.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I think it would be worth applying for PIP for DD, it would help cover some of the expenses.
Do you have a diary? I know it's not the same as PA, but will help you keep notes of your day, pain levels, assist with DDs PIP application etc.
Fingers crossed your cleaner is able to squeeze your request in.

Enjoy your time with your DS. Good idea to write a list prior to appointments. At least you know you have covered what you want to find out.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thanks MF and HSL. HSL - should I be worried you were awake? Hugs
MF- I do have a journal - but mostly use on here. I am keeping a note of my pain in a separate diary.
Paid £83.77 off a CC. If all goes well - a big if - will hopefully be debt-free by this time next year / March payday. However - if DD continues to have a PT or counselling that could add months - unless get PIP. She has an appointment at the end of the month - so will try and get her needs better documented then and mine too at my appointments.and see where it takes us.
DS comes back about midday and returns about 8pm this evening which should be nice although DD has a really busy day and isn't impressed at all that he is dropping in.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Had a nice meal with DS - lunchtime menu so got 2 courses for £17 total - just drank tap water. He is now talking about going to Canada after he graduates as you can get a working visa for 2 years without having to do farm labour. He would need to save up first though. Good for him. I've currently got him doing a test for ADD - the first one he scored very highly on. He is trying another...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Conclusion was that DS is highly likely to be ADD - as he scored almost full marks LOL. I am being tested it for at the end of the month too. He is going to go to his doctor and ask for a test - as it would explain why he is so last minute and forgetful sometimes. He always leaves something behind! He's slept through exams before etc... It may also contribute to his handling of money.
Had a really lovely day with him - even better than last time he came home. I sent him back with a bit of a care pack of food and agreed to pay him 1 week early. After that he will need to live on his earnings. He has applied for a loan for £2.2K but is waiting to hear if he is accepted. Currently he is paying £2.30 a day for his debt - and with every charge his debt level is rising. The APR is due to almost double soon....
I still need to have a shower, then do some work from home, then go in for a short meeting, rush to the dentist. Have a brief gap after the dentist before going to our gym appointment. A busy day but the sun is shining. Yesterday I upped my tablets to 800mg.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Sounds like you had a busy day yesterday. ADD would explain his last minute tendencies :-) Sounds like he's got some exciting plans for his future....DFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Thanks both. Yes it was great with DS - love him to bits - we are really close so I miss him when he jets off places. He managed to get a loan for 16.9% for £2.2K with a £180 arrangement fee!! No-one else was wiling to touch him - and because he hasn't been great with money/repayments we were reluctant to lend to him or borrow for him even though I could get it at 2.4%! Feel sad for him but want him to learn when he is at this debt level - not ours!!! Gobsmacked at the arrangement fee. They are also paying him the money in 3 instalments across 3 months which is weird. But he only has to pay something like £5 a month while still at uni and then the loan kicks in properly as soon as he leaves. He needs to get that paid off asap.
Dentist went well - he was doing something to my teeth either side of the front two and did it without injection but it was less painful doing that than if he had injected which is my least favourite thing. At least I am getting some self-care items ticked off. Opticians - done. Dentist - done. Gym sign up within the next hour all being well. I am whacked today though. Am about to eat leftover cajun chicken from yesterday with jacket spud. Tasty!
I can actually see some blue sky - it's a miracle. There have been some consecutive days with sun and blue sky! Grateful for that and doggy cuddles. Dentist did a good job too - made my teeth look much betterAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
