Shame there's extra costs, but it's good you've the money and it can be slowly replenished next year.
Hoodie, cake and meal out are celebrations to mark receiving your offer.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Thanks Drawingaline.
Hi MF. Yes shame about the extra transfer costs but I had been sort of warned - I just forgot... My new hoodie is lovely. I agree all part of the celebration.
I kind of 'crashed' tonight - as in needed to lie down for an hour or so in a darkened room. Had a lot going on so unsurprising really.

DD has adapted, become self-sufficient and is flourishing.
Hope you're feeling rested today. The end is approaching and stresses will reduce. You're doing so well.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -
Lovely news on the mortgage and that DD is enjoying her job.
M&S are underreated for clothes, I like their Autograph range and they do a style of jeans called Lily that are really cheap but very flattering and wash really well. They're about £20, but they often have offers on them. Plus of course their nightwear and undiesDFD March 2025 (£35000 paid off)

Thanks MF - getting there.
Ohsh... Yes I like the soft MnS nightwear and undies. Yesterday's hoodie was from their good move range... Like you say - good quality that lasts.
I was wide awake about 3am. I blame the dog. She shook herself out on the landing and her collar was clinking. I then couldn't get back to sleep until 5.30am. I journalled, read and did some colouring in-between. I woke up briefly at 9.20am but turned back over and fell back to sleep until 12.30pm so felt a lot better. Breakfast of coffeecake (tasty) followed a few hours later by porridge.
I took DD to the shop and she did a top up shop for me for £11.12 - a lot cheaper than if I'd gone in myself... I did a big shop a week ago for store cupboard staples. She's off next week so bought her own food as she'll be home.
I'm making a garlic chicken roast dinner for tea for me and DD as we'll both be out tomorrow. I've also said I'll make tacos to share with her and she can make me spag bol later in the week. She's asked me to make her some soup... I think I'll try and blitz one I made earlier in the week and see if there's any freezer space as I don't necessarily have the right ingredients to create another this week. I am thinking of trying to make a butternut squash curry at some point too... I have some out of date chicken kievs I may cook and just see if they are alright. Don't want to waste them. I got her to buy more flour and eggs - so I think more cake will have to be made this week. I still have plenty of oranges too.
I've gone through my budget bearing in mind the extra legal costs - and I'll just have to adjust how much I was saving to pay off Ex to pay the conveyancing costs - however because I won't really pay the mortgage in month 1 I will just be able to take the money for Ex out of next payday - or my EF if there's an opportunity to transfer the property to me earlier.
Need to continue getting stuff out of the loft and sorting. I'm dropping DD at MIL's tomorrow. Will be interesting to see if she speaks to me. May drop off some boxes too to get them out the house... Then will go and see DS and pick up DD on the way home. Ex will presumably go on his motorbike.
Planning to do more colouring later. It keeps me calm and happy and let's me practice my artistic skills during this waiting period...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You're doing great & it's lovely to hear you sounding so much more positive in all your posts.6

Oh heck - please don’t risk out of date chicken! If it was just plain then at least you’d be able to give it a good sniff and make sure but the garlic may well mask any off-smells. I’ll risk many things past their sell-by, but poultry is definitely not one of them! How absolutely wonderful to hear how beautifully DD is blooming - you must be incredibly proud of her!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks Welshkitty. Feeling more relaxed re the financial side of divorce which has been my biggest concern outside of kids' reaction.
EH I have cooked it and bagged it for a decision later... I eat quite a lot of out of date food but agree should be careful of chicken.
I have batch cooked today. Mince for tacos with onion and pepper. Butternut squash and sweet potato curry for meal with DS tomorrow. Blitzed a soup for DD and started cooking another using YS veg from earlier in the week and some tins.
Garlic chicken, onion and carrots, with roasties, broccoli and cauli is virtually ready to eat. Challenge will be fitting everything in fridge... May need to get DD to use some of the garage fridge...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Meals look good.
If the Kiev's have been in the freezer I would risk them, you would smell they're off even when cooked.
Enjoy the colouring.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.7 -
Thanks MF.
Well I paid DD to clear all the accumulated stuff under my bed. She filled a bin bag! Oops 🤫 Bargain for £10 as it took her ages. It's super king size and the slats are too narrow for me to get anything from above. She used two long brushes to coral stuff and get it out and probably had to lie down.
Virtue has its rewards as she found me an expensive Cl1n1qu3 eye cream that I'd asked her to look for. I'd been eyeing it up in the shop this week and online but wanted another go at finding it before committing. Good choice. Even paying her I was quids up and got a nasty job done.
This week I was also near the bottom of a similarly expensive face moisturiser. She got a makeup box for £30 that had £140+ of stuff in it including 15ml of the one I was looking at buying and gave it me.
I use a much cheaper moisturiser £4-7 range for the rest of me av33n0. A spray on one and a very dry skin one. I have really sensitive skin.
Like MF I am realising how important it is to look after your skin and pamper yourself some times... I have noticed a big difference since July when I upped my skincare routine.
Ex got loads down from the loft to including some other curtains I want to check out. Other stuff like old quilts and sleeping bags I will just take to the tip in the morning. I will also take a few boxes to MIL when I drop off DD tomorrow.
Really looking forward to seeing DS. Just planning to see him for 3-4 hours before he returns to LondonAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
