badmemory said:The trouble with family (& close friends too often) is they always have lots of expectations & it doesn't seem to occur to them that those expectations could possibly not happen & just take it for granted that they will. Maybe some of us are on here because we know that some of those things don't work out as we'd hope & feel more of a need to say "hey that's great news" when they do.
I think some (cough) parents for example wanted everything to take longer in the hope I would change my mind.... How do they still not know me???Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks lookafterthepennies HSL Sandy and BadMemory
Your encouragement matters. Thanks again.
Had a nice mini reunion with DS. He's going house sitting at my sister's first thing tomorrow but has said I can come and visit him Sunday. I have 2/3 of a tank so I think I will.
However, my tyre has a lost pressure warning yet again so I think I must have a slow punctures. I'll take it to get checked out. Don't want to fall not on tyres.
I'll see if I can get a free check somewhere.
Busy day tomorrow though as have work, counselor and have to pick up DD from 17 miles away Mid afternoon. DS has Ex's car so could get tricky. Potentially need to go to the garage first thing and get taxi home if needed or try and book some time off. Probably simpler to book time off if the garage needs me to leave the car.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks Kay. Such a relief.
Well today the conveyancing solicitor has contacted me. So I need to print a load of stuff, sign it and get it back to them. So that's progress.
DD is going to get all her Airbnb for Nov and Dec refunded by employer and someone will pick her up and drop her off when she's at site. Amazing news.
Sadly my tyre did need replacing. £82. But feel lucky as I had a nail in the tyre and drove a while with that... Oops. A thank God moment that's for sure.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Luck is smiling down on you and it's all coming together.
There's a lot of good people here who see the ups and downs, offering unconditional support and encouragement without judgement. Perhaps at times we do shelter family and physical friends from what is going on, or maybe we know the words from them will always be along the lines of everything will be ok. As you say, they also don't understand the urgency of things and how important something is. It's hard unless they've been in that situation, they can't imagine what you're going through.
I hope you have a relaxing happy weekend and know there's not much longer until everything is finished.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.10 -

Thanks MF and EHIt looks like a lot of stuff I thought was included in my mortgage application fee is going to be extra with the conveyancing related to the divorce but I will check it out more on Monday. It will be what it will be.
I have spotted at least £300 in extra fees so far... My sis gave me some money a couple of weeks ago so I will be fine (untouched and using as EF currently). I still hate parting with it though. I did know earlier there would be some extra cost but had somehow missed it out my budget.
I bought myself a thin, very soft wine coloured hoodie from MnS today. I got £5 off using a loyalty card and my fave cake may have jumped in my basket too. £23 spent. I had planned to save £100 for extra EF this month but effectively used that on the tyre and clothing.
I also took DD for a meal. £15 including drinks so I was happy. I am only having one more counseling session this pay period but had allowed 2 more so my budget still balances despite recent spending. I allow some fun and eating out money anyway.
Still happy and relieved to have mortgage offer.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
