Please tell DD that the test doesn't hurt. It isn't comfortable. Sticking a swab up your nose & twiddling it around for a few seconds is never going to be comfortable but it doesn't hurt. The throat bit which obviously you do first is not as uncomfortable BUT if it doesn't make you gag a little then it isn't any use cos you probably haven't swabbed the right bit. Maybe she just needs your sister to tell her exactly what happens. I know when I got mine (as part of a survey) I kept looking at it and thinking I can't do this. Fortunately & eventually my inbuilt bloodymindedness kicked in & I did it. Is there any way she can do one first before the school one? I'll be honest here, the thing I found worst was swabbing my throat & then having to use the same swab to do my nostrils. It just felt so wrong & against all the hygiene rules somehow.

Your DD is doing well during lockdown and I do understand the nervousness about going back to school. What plans does she have for when she finishes 6th form?3

Do have sis speak with DD, real life experiences will go further than repeating what you've read or heard. I do feel for DD and know it can't be easy for any of you.
Try and rest up, get fresh air when you can even if it's just having windows open and make sure you're eating as healthy as you can too.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Congrats on the reviews.I agree, the test is unpleasant but not painful."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Thanks guys. In better news I have been able to book a vaccination for 5/3. Big relief. DH is same day.
DH got sent a shielding letter today. Only a year late!! Feel vindicated for nagging him about going out, wearing masks etc. Should save us fuel as he was going in work 2-3 times per week and occasionally church. It increases dilemma over DD return to school though. As she could bring it home until fully vaccinated.

I couldn't sleep last night - so at around 4am I wrote a little bit more of book 2 in my journal. That kickstarted me today writing quite a chunk more - so added 1615 words. Happy with that. Amazon have sent confirmation of what they are due to pay me in royalties. It is apparently 2 months in arrears - so I am literally just being paid for 28-31/12. At least I know now. Need to inform the tax man I'm trading...
My work computer froze today - and I don't know when I last saved. Desperately hoping it's resolved when I log on tomorrow and my work is saved - otherwise I lost at least 3 hours work.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Tonight I also typed up 700 words towards a non-fiction book that I'd written in my journal. Had a productive day overall. I also finished reading a story I really enjoyed. I have to confess to favouring the outcast and seeing them rise.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thankfully it had saved. I was very grateful. Currently stuck at Opticians with DD. Hope her vision has changed otherwise pay £25 for test as it is under a year since her last one. She's been having headaches though so investigating.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
