Thanks MF, Jwil and @enthusiasticsaver I was the spender but have become the spreadsheet nerd. TBF I am still aiming to repay £3k this pay period. He was just objecting to me saying no to things and trying to bump the figure to £3152. The over £3k we paid off last month was the highest ever other than when we got our PPI reclaim. Most of our annual bills are in the second half of the year.
Financial freedom is a top motivator and I too am hoping to knock years off our planned retirement date. We are also making a list of a backlog of home maintenance / improvements that need doing if we plan to stay. We are potentially going to help DD get established before we move to our rural dream.
Glad ES that you are enjoying my book so far. I would be grateful if you could leave a review when you are done.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Great debt repayment. Fascinating how spenders become savers - the same has happened to me and it still surprises me 🤣
financial freedom is such a good motivator. After years of overspending the ability to do what we want with our own money - not the banks, not the credit cards but our own money...... amazingKeep doing what you are doing!!6 -
Thanks Blackcats
It is exciting making progress. Looks like we'll be debt free around the time that lockdown fully lifts. Paid another £300 off debt. We are both currently earning the best we ever have - and now that we are more organised money-wise choices open up. Want to maximise this period while we can - while still taking opportunities to have adventures along the way - particularly once the world opens back up.
DH has been offered a vaccination - he will ring tomorrow to book an appointment. I may ring tomorrow to make sure they know my weight - and offer me a vaccination too. One of the few times it could go in my favour.

Having a frustrating work day so far. I took pooch for a walk yesterday late afternoon - hopefully I can do the same after my next 2 meetings. DH booked in for vaccine a week on Friday. DD is worried about going back to 6th form - apparently they plan to give them c19 tests twice a week. She's not happy about it.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Think there's something in the air.
Hope you get the extra walks, it does you both good to have a stretch.
How long has DD got before she's finished for good?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4 -
DD finishes 6th form this year - but really unclear what's happening re exams / mini-exams etc. The government were talking about changing the school holidays - not sure what's going on. Finished early for me. Concentration went.... Didn't make it on a walk as it is really blustery outside and doesn't feel pleasant at all. Sun going in now too.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It will be great if you can look back on lockdown as a time you became debt free! Great progress. If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

DD strongly dislikes change or things she can't control. She's also terrified she'll bring the virus home to us. She's convinced herself getting the swabs done will hurt. My sis has had a few c19 tests (always negative thankfully) - may get her to have a word with DD.
I have to keep focusing on the good. I got my 10th five star review on Am**** today. Gave me a boost. Thanks to those of you on here who have reviewed it for me. All further help with reviews and getting the word out about my book gratefully received. Going to take DS to the chemist shortly to pick up DH's prescription.
