Thanks MF, Jwil and @enthusiasticsaver I was the spender but have become the spreadsheet nerd. TBF I am still aiming to repay £3k this pay period. He was just objecting to me saying no to things and trying to bump the figure to £3152. The over £3k we paid off last month was the highest ever other than when we got our PPI reclaim. Most of our annual bills are in the second half of the year.

Financial freedom is a top motivator and I too am hoping to knock years off our planned retirement date. We are also making a list of a backlog of home maintenance / improvements that need doing if we plan to stay. We are potentially going to help DD get established before we move to our rural dream.

Glad ES that you are enjoying my book so far. I would be grateful if you could leave a review when you are done.

That's amazing you'll be debt-free at the same time as lockdown lifting - a double celebration!!

DD finishes 6th form this year - but really unclear what's happening re exams / mini-exams etc. The government were talking about changing the school holidays - not sure what's going on. Finished early for me. Concentration went.... Didn't make it on a walk as it is really blustery outside and doesn't feel pleasant at all. Sun going in now too.

It will be great if you can look back on lockdown as a time you became debt free! Great progress.
