Really pleased for you at the way the book sales are progressing.
I'm looking forward to reading the next one too.
Hope you're feeling a bit less tired and that the toothache has disappeared! ((hugs))

Thanks Crystal. I hope to write some more of book 2 over the weekend. Trying to pace myself. I think all my 'marketing' activity last weekend wiped me out!! Unfortunately the toothache has stuck around. Ibuprofen is taking the edge off it but that's all....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

DD demanded a 'daddy and daughter day'... £22 later... Nice though really. £12 was on one of those vans in a pub carpark - where I used to get steak and chips from occasionally. The other £10 in Morries... DH did resolve my car key battery so that was something at least. DH thinks my target for CC payment is too aggressive this month... he may be right... We'll see how things go. I wanted to pay off £152 more than he is comfortable with... It would give a much nicer amount of flex in our budget if I gave in... I'll think about it... The reality - I'd probably just let the EF go lower to still make the payment even if we went over budget. I think he just objects in principle. I should have probably just not told him what I was doing - he might not have noticed then. Not sure I'm learning the right lessons LOL.
Still once we are debt free there's so much I want to do with the spare cash. Including some new windows and doors (if we are staying a reasonable amount of time....)

Thanks Lucielle - It seems to have clamed down today. I bought some sensitive toothpaste.
Well we agreed to loosen the budget. Despite my initial protests - I'm chuffed as I bought an art canvas print that I wanted when it was £140 and today it was £31!! Sucks for them but great for me. We also got a take out burger from a new burger bar for DD but we're getting a chinese takeaway from a different place to normal - so we can have a taste of something new!! I watched a film I loved today called a map of tiny perfect things on Am**** Feeling chilled.

Glad you are feeling chilled. Loosening the budget a little is fine as it keeps OH on board and has minimal impact on your soon to be debt free date. I hope you enjoy your takeaway. I was going to have a takeaway tonight but I used a spice tailor mix to create a yummy curry instead. To be totally honest it wasn't me being saintly and saving money, I was just too lazy to want to go out and collect a takeaway 😇4

Thanks Blackcats. DD enjoyed her burger but I was really disappointed with our food. I won't be going back to either. Oh well. Just trying to break the cycle. At least I know I'm not missing anything. Am**** have sent me the same wrong size journal twice in a row... You'd think they'd learn... I'll get it picked up Monday. I watched a really nice film earlier though....Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You can rotate ibuprofen and paracetamol, warm water will also calm it a little.
D&D day sounds good, hopefully he will slot in a D&S day and H&W days for all-round fairness.
Bargain canvas and I know it's hard relaxing the budget, but it's only adding a little extra time to the DF day.
Sometimes we have to try these food places to remind us why we don't buy them. I gave up buying Chinese takeaway up here about a year after moving, it was thin, watery, tasteless and so not like what I was used to buying, and it cost a lot more for the privilege, tried a few different places. We buy a pot of paste to make curry and it's like what I used to buy, flavour and spice, plus it's cheaper and quick.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.6 -

Good that the debt is coming down SH. Your DH is like mine in that if he knows there is spare cash he tends to want to spend it. I am not against spending per se but am more measured and think longer term but as he was able to retire 8 years earlier than SPA and he credits me with saving for this he is good in bowing to my advice generally. As money has become more plentiful in our household I have just increased his personal spends to keep him on board and then he does not touch our joint household budget. I cannot bear it when he messes up my budgets so would rather increase his spends. I always have a surplus in my personal spends account and have £100 per month less than him so don't bother about increasing mine. We bought a new large screen HDR TV with my surplus this week and he could not believe that I manage to end up with enough to cover that whereas he goes through his spends every month without fail. I pointed out that over the last year hairdressers, travel, restaurants and theatres have been closed for much of it and that is what most of mine goes on usually plus books and clothes and walking trips away. His goes on hobbies and there are always packages from ebay arriving for him. Some are spenders and some are savers. Sounds like the dynamic is the same in your house.
I downloaded your book last weekend but only read first two chapters so far as already have two books on the go and want to finish those first. Reads well so far though.
