It could be iron deficiency too - I will look into chewable vitamins for her again. Both her eyes had worsened by half a point so she does need new glasses. Cost to me of £30 on top of NHS voucher. I think I can claim that through work - upto £50 so may try and get her £20 of contact lenses on top. I have realised though I could have claimed for her last summer but have missed the deadline. At least I remembered this time. She's no longer eligible after her birthday - so I want to get in quick. They should come within a week.
I am thinking of getting a pair of my glasses re-glazed - as I scratched emulsion paint off them but didn't realise that would damage the glasses - DOH! I've asked them to let me know how much it would cost to just replace the lenses. [The original bill was £304 for 2 pairs but I think that was buy 1 get 1 half price]. I think my prescription has stayed the same - my last test was Feb 20. Currently wearing my spare pair which do the job - but the others came with magnetic sunglasses addition.
Got a delivery coming tonight. My Dad got a shielding letter today - it feels very strange that they are going to all the effort of sending the letters out to cover a 5-6 week period - unless they are expecting to reinstate shielding / lockdown in the future after this latest one lifts. Better late than never.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Lovely spring photos. I did a bike ride along our nearby coast road and it was gorgeous out. I plan on reading your book over next few days as almost finished my current book so will definitely leave a review. Good news on vaccination date. DH and I are booked in for next Tuesday.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks ES - I appreciate it. Hope your jabs go well. Will be interesting to see which I get. At least my parents and MIL have had their jabs so should have some protection while they await the second jab.
Almost the weekend.... Next week I am working a short week as I am doing a virtual training course over a 4 day weekend period starting Thursday and then have Monday booked off to recover. Looking forward to that too. My parcel with course materials has arrived but DS's is late... Hope it comes soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks MF and HSL. Yes I can claim for the lenses. It was a lovely day here today - 10 degrees with blue skies and fluffy white clouds. Wrote another 650 words of Book 2.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Still in the top 100 (80) in 1 category... I wrote a list a few weeks ago of lots of different measures of book success. Being in the top 100 was one of them. Very grateful to those of you on here who have helped make that happen by downloading my book and reviewing. I've been catching up on some science fiction reading yesterday and today. Started reading a new series on KU. Cheap entertainment (especially as I got 6 months half price during Black Friday Sale!)
Redeemed £83 from £co to my fave online store... Contemplating buying a webcam for my conference next Thursday. May buy a long hdmi cable too to making 'casting' to TV easier... I've also been tempted for a few months to buy podcasting equipment for the marketing aspect of my writing career... Also still need to get my website up and running... Always so many competing demands for £ and time.
In less welcome news - something about our shed / outdoor electrics tripped our main circuit board last night - and it seems to have taken out the electronic garage door too. DH has bought some new batteries for the sensor in case its that - but otherwise may need to call out an engineer which sounds expensive. Why is it always when you're on a mission to get something done that these things crop up? Worst case that's what the EF is there for though - so relatively at peace about it.
Last payment to a car bill went out today (from 6 months ago - free credit). Hopefully we won't do that again - but it was around the time we were cashflowing the patio. Next CC payment due out next week.
Still debating what to do about DD's school. They are doing pre-testing at the end of next week. DD is pleased as they have cancelled online lessons for 2 days - but we're still debating whether she goes in for a test. I've emailed the school and they were going to discuss her situation today and get back to me. I don't think they have yet though.

Lots of progress being made as usual. Good news about the jabs too.
