@savingholmes that is awful about your friend. 50 is such a no age to pass away. My relative came out of hospital today after spending the last few days in hospital. She’s only 22 but works in a hospital so we thought it was likely she would catch it but didn’t realise how badly it would affect her.My parents are due to have the vaccine next week too. It’s such a relief knowing they will hopefully have some immunity.
You take care x4 -
So sorry to hear that, it is indeed a terrible disease.
FIL has been vaccinated, no idea when MIL will be.
Weirdly seems to cleared up a few minor issues he had, no one knows why.
Take care and look after yourself and family.

I think the hidden tragedy behind the statistics on the news is all those with families - who left kids behind and partners to grow old alone. It's just gutting. I think we have to use this time as a reminder to make the most of every day regardless. It's one of the reasons I published my book - I wanted to get it out there - rather than lie there on my death bed one day regretting that I hadn't. Go for your dreams. Truly live. Tell those you love.

savingholmes said:Targets for 2021
1) Clear CC debt £15,212 @ 0% (assuming we both keep our jobs)
CC4 £3323 - current target card - plan to clear in February
CC3 £4795 - plan to clear in March
CC2 £5623 - plan to clear in May
CC1 £1470 - plan to clear in June
CC4 now £2180
CC3 now £4675 (£120 went out pre pay-day)
CC1 and 2 as yet unchanged
Revised debt now £13948 so debt reduction off to a flying start. Hoping to end the month at the bottom end of £12K which would be amazing. Just need to resist the siren call of online shopping and takeaways.
I've also sent some money to my business account for advertising (from my personal spends initially - although hope to top it up when DH also paid next week).Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Cried on and off through the night - not just for my friend and her family but all the others like her. I have taken the day off. I have barely gone anywhere for a year but am still terrified I could catch it. I am one of those grateful for lockdown as I was scared DD could bring it home from school. I am sorry for those who have lost their livelihoods but preservation of life has to be the priority. Hugs for all those grieving.

Thanks and welcome FourSeasons. Thanks MF and DIA. Really glad I took the day off. Grief still coming in waves. Looking forward to my chat later with a friend. Reminder I still have friends. DD is making us chips and chicken kiev for dinner. Kitchen is still clean after several days. Miracles exist... My parents are being vaccinated this weekend - grateful for that. Trying to find ways of focusing on the good. When I couldn't sleep last night - at one point I got up and wrote about 700 words of my novel. Hoping to do a bit more writing on and off today. Might even tidy lounge...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
