Hi HM - yes - much better price. They are due to come a week on Monday. BM and Tahlullah - that does sound shocking.

Well I returned to BnM and bought the extra lamp #15, a storage ottoman - rectangular #20 and a round one #15, I am hoping to store some of my (new) canvases in the rectangular one and that the dog will use it as a seat rather than trying to squash on my chair with me all the time LOL. The cat just claimed the space - it obviously likes it. I bought our dog a new toy - she's busy with that. Other than the new hob - hopefully that's me done shopping for a while!! Food delivery due tonight. At the weekend I need to do a proper sort out and work out what I am getting rid of and potentially put it on FB marketplace or whatever... Typically not had any charity bags through this week or I'd leave some things out for them!

DH has told me there's some left over beef so going to have that with croquettes and carrots.

  • That is a much better price.
Purchases sound good and typical cat claiming space!
Good luck with sorting out and selling / donating.

Thanks MF. A bag arrived today for Tuesday so can declutter ready for that. I am watching utube on minimalism and she talks about stuff in your house as inventory you are constantly trying to manage. Therefore less is better. It made sense.

I am posting this on my phone as my laptop keeps playing up. Getting worse for months so may need to spend out after all which is a shame.

Got a quote for widening one side of the drive for £1.1k. £3.8 if did full patio or £2.5 if did circle of patio plus slate. Given my laptop situation etc that may have to wait although if we were to do it better to be do now before weather worsens. Will ponder

Your house and garden must be unrecognisable from the start of the year.  You are making so much progress.

  • That's a good way of viewing possessions and if it helps separate how you feel about things, it's a step in the right direction too.

Tax deductible against your new business perhaps? Unless you won't be up and running to do it. These things never happen at the right time, although it's probably better now than in a few months when people are buying them as gifts.

Maybe the slab work should wait until spring, allows time to save and finish the inside.

  • Well done with decluttering. I also need to see my household as an inventory of items.

  • Yikes, be worth it to keep DHs car going for another year. Better the devil you know with motors.

A lie-in was overdue and you can do a bit of sorting out tomorrow.

    Enjoy your evening 😊

  • Keep crunching the numbers to see if you can make them work for you.
At some point you will make a decision about staying / moving. In the interim carry on working your way through your to do list, paying down the debt and saving where you can.

Having DD contributing towards her phone bill will help a little. Is she still enjoying her job?

When I do the CC instalment plans (assuming that's what yours was), I always do it for longer to bring the monthly payment down, but then overpay to get it back to where I want it to be. That way it offers more flexibility to just pay the agreed instalment if something else has to take priority one month.
