DH can have DS on his policy 😁 (I know, it still comes out your budget).
Your kitchen is really coming together now. Won't be long before you are saying it's finished.

Thanks Mark, MF and Bad Memory. Yes I am reluctant to reinsure DS. We did say - he would have to contribute if we insured him again. I bought a new wireless keyboard for my personal laptop but I seem to have bought a micro one so was really shocked LOL when it turned up. Still waiting for my new mouse. In prep for potential further lockdown - I've bought some canvas boards - easier to store (before and after painting), some TP and some new clothes (it's clothing allowance quarter). I managed to get 20% off the full price items again so really happy with that. I've felt really cold today and had the heating on for brief periods before DH rebels and gets me to turn it off or wastes it all by opening the patio doors off his study. Rainbow outside - makes me smile. I need to carry on the decorating but not in the mood which is bad timing. I may change into some older clothes and do some art.
DS has another trial day in a co-working space today. He had an interview from there today - and may have a follow up interview next Wednesday. Just hope he's safe and doesn't bring C19 home despite going on public transport. A little irritated as they have local restrictions where he's gone and he didn't discuss it specifically beforehand. I think the guidance is really unclear - but I don't think he should have gone to it. Although we may be more at risk from DD being in sixth form! No visible social distancing at all. I am starting to get stressed about C19 again now.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

You will adapt to your keyboard.
Definitely stock up on boards, perhaps it might be worth looking into frames and canvas in readiness for the future and your dedicated studio.
Looking forward to hearing about your clothes.
It has been cold today, males seem to run warmer than females.
Try and relax, limit your access to news and other sites where it's information overload, remind DS of the distancing, face covering and washing rules. I imagine DD isn't taking chances.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
The news briefing today said that the numbers did not suggest a spike in infections through school (in the younger years), but at age 17 - 20 there was a definite and quite rapid increase. So probably need to tell DS to be more careful than DD.I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Hi MF - spoke to DS - he has signed up to the co-working space so now needs to earn enough to pay for it. It is a rolling 1 month contract so could be worse! He bless him took wipes with him and my disinfectant spray and said he has been religious about using it - on the train, at the co-working space, when going to the loo etc. So I feel a little better. He said the trains were empty and that the office had a space either side of him and across from his so it sounds like they've took the right steps there. They also had plenty of wipes etc you could use. He also took anti-bac gel. He said he got so much more done that he would in his childhood bedroom. You are right I need to limit my news exposure...
DS is going to take one of my paintings with him to work and see if he can get people interested in buying my stuff - sweet kid. I have 20 art boards of different sizes - and at least 12 spare canvases so that should get me through for a while - I have plenty of paint. I cooked a chilli tonight instead of painting and picked DD up from the gym - another risk zone. Mark - DD is 17 but because she has ASD is exempt from wearing a mask - it makes her panic - she is the bigger risk currently. She does use gel - but in her lessons they aren't really 1 metre apart never mind 2. At break - they are too close together - although she tends to sit with the same person.
I've started taking vitamin D as that could be a protector. I need to focus on what I can control - my environment - making it tidier, decorating it - and trying to be healthier.

Just wanted to pop in and say hi.
Sounds like you have been busy as ever. Great news you have some money back in your savings.
In relation to the news, part of some work I do is to train about the impact of negative messages on our wellbeing. If you want to stay updated could someone else in your family listen to the news and report back some key information to reduce your overall exposure to it all. You may find that this helps you and reduces the negative impact of it for you.
Keep going.

I've got buses going by the flat, never had to use more than one hand to count the amount of people on them. Can't see the trains as they go by, but imagine they are the same; still running a reduced service up here.
DS will probably find more work now he has his own space, that should then pay for the desk / area. It's good he's taking precautions.
All you can do with DD is remind her about distancing, sanitiser and washing.
The suggestion about limiting news was because it quickly takes a grip of thoughts, step away from it and life becomes more settled.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.5 -
Thanks Mark, Longway2go and MF
Well today has been ok - not my most productive - so finished early and took back some flexi. Paid £75 off debt. I want to try and make myself paint the ceiling in the kitchen tonight - not done it yet. I also still have gloss and walls to finish before Monday. Will see how I do.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

It's been a mixed day. Bad news DH's car failed MOT - good news it's an easy fix and garage can do Monday - just back fog light bulb and windscreen washer. So hopefully will get through MOT. That will mean that we spent about £600 on the car in a year - including 2 new tyres, steering rod work, an oil change and MOT which doesn't seem to bad for a car we bought for £750 last year and only expected to last months. Definitely had our value from it. Hopefully it will now last at least another year - although who knows. What I am realising is that I was allowing too little for motoring expenses in a year - so moving forward want to allow around £200 pcm. Just hope my car gets through it's mot okay in about 3 weeks time.... It's a 66 plate unlike his 06 plate - but last year my car cost a fortune to get through its mot as it needed brakes and safety belts.
DS didn't get the second interview for the job at DH's work. I have to say - other than for the £ I really didn't want him to go there as DH hates it and I didn't want that to spill onto DS as he starts out. He has some calls about work tomorrow - and some people at the co-working space have said they are interested in using him so it may all work out yet. I am really looking forward to time off Monday now - even if it is because we have workmen in. DH has just taken DD to work. They've shortened her hours by 25% due to the curfew.
Trying to find a way to magic up the £1100 for drive widening down one side. Currently DH's motorbike is on the front when it should be in the garage or driveway. If the drive was wider - could leave it out sometimes next to my car... Room should be freed up back in the garage when the kitchen and utility counters are fitted though - and DH puts the new cabinet together. Still not decided what I'm doing with the new cupboard doors - where to strip and paint them or what. My cleaner seems to have thrown my 1kea receipts which I am really unhappy about as I was planning to return some items. Not sure if I can use bank account and family card as proof of purchase? Anyone know?
Started to get letters through about new CC. Hopefully should find out this week what CC limit is. Depending on the outcome - may try and transfer normal grocery spend to free up £ for the drive. Also considering using it to transfer £ (free for 18 months) from CC that is due to be repaid by April to give us a little longer. DH commented today - that this time last year we were expecting to be debt free by November - he's a little disappointed - partly because he was hoping it would give him job freedom. He can't agree to spend £ though - and then be surprised when our DFD is delayed.
