I always wish I liked hot chocolate as it sounds so comforting, sadly I don’t. I like my chocolate solid 😆
Glad B continues to get better 🥳I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
foxgloves said:You definitely don't need to be catching flu, OBL. I think most things are more infectious towards the beginning, so hopefully as he's into his 2nd week, you will escape. Can understand you feeling worried about it & I don't blame you. Flu is awful.
That hot chocolate sounds like it was a nice festive treat!

Up early this morning to get going with my day. I went to Mum and Dads to drop off their presents and have a coffee, they were both in grumpy moods so I left after an hour. I then went into town to the pet shop to find the dog treats I couldn't find yesterday and they had some so I got a couple of packs.
I also picked up two cartons of special cat food for the cats Christmas dinner. We don't do this with B as we did it one year and she was violently sick the next day 😟 I bought her a licky mat and some sprinkles to put on it. She loved it but did get lots of sprinkles stuck to her chin hair 😀 she hasn't been too good today 😟she has fallen down the last few steps on the stairs and her back end has fallen to the left a few times, she can wag her tail properly now though ,it wouldn't move at all and then would only go round in circles but now it looks normal 😀I am keeping an eye on her progress and if she starts to look like she is getting worse again I will have to take her back to the vets. I know it can take several weeks for them to recover properly so I will wait and see.
I came home and we made our nut roast for tomorrow so the house smells like roast dinner now, I tasted a bit and it's as yummy as I remembered, it's got pistachios and cranberries in it with portobello mushrooms, onion, green lentils and panko breadcrumbs, I suspect you can use normal breadcrumbs but the recipe does stipulate panko so I used those .
I am off to bed now otherwise Father Christmas won't come 😀
Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all have a lovely time xxxOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201 -

The nut roast sounds lovely, which recipe did you use? I’ve made a mushroom roast from the Deliciously Ella app, it has nuts, green lentils, dried porcini mushrooms, chestnut mushrooms, onions, carrots and miso paste and smells amazing.Happy Christmas 🎄I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Well that's Christmas done for another year 😀we had a lovely but hectic Christmas Day so we were glad to have a bit more of a relaxing Boxing Day at home. It was mainly spent reading one of my new books and eating chocolate 😍😍
Yesterday was my first day back at work on a full 8 hours shift and it was a really nice day. I walked to work which was invigorating and woke me up 😀 the ward is full of kids and parents with flu plus one staff member felt ill all day and told us her husband and children all have flu. I managed to avoid the patients with flu but not the ill staff member so I hope I haven't caught anything. We are wearing masks so hopefully it will be ok and I must have used a whole bottle of hand gel while I was there.
My boss was working yesterday so we had my first informal sickness monitoring meeting combined with my return to work. She asked how I was feeling and said I felt amazing and she thought I was joking 😀😀she said really or are you joking. She was very pleased when I said I wasn't 😀 she is still referring me to occupational health which i think it a good idea as I might get some useful advice and it helps them to plan how I do my job. I think they want to assess my fitness for my role which is fine by me. They will have to monitor me anyway, I told her it's two years of treatment and that the gp told me there will be ups and downs when they adjust the steroids but I won't know until they do it so will just have to wait and see what happens.
Im off today and was going to go into town to look for some new boots ( I have Christmas to money to spend 🎉🎉) but it's chucking it down and I don't really want leave B on her own so I'm staying at home and catching up on some jobs and washing.
I got rid of the last toy I was giving away last night so have even done some decluttering. A lovely man who looked like Father Christmas came and picked it up and he insisted that he gave me a box of Lindor balls in return so that made me very happy 😀 I have so far got rid of a big plastic box full of cars and a garage, a toy that was given to me still in its box that had balls that were blown out of a chimney and a baby walker. I have some more but they are small baby toys so I will bag them up and take them to the charity shop next week when things are back to normal. I will just be left with a wooden train set which I will keep because DGS2 loves trains at the moment so he would play with that if he ever came over.
Once DD2 moves out I am on a mission to declutter as much as possible and then I will be decorating where ever needs it while the weather is cold to hopefully be able to move onto the garden by the spring, I want everything sorted so that when I decide to sell I will get the best price possible.
I am also thinking of doing a no spend January as a radical way to start of my new financial year. I'm not sure how feasible this is yet but would love to do it. I don't have any commitments in January or any birthdays or things like that so it would be a good opportunity to give it a go
I'm also contacting SC t tell them I'm going self managed as I can't keep up with the payments they have me on now I'm going to be on my own. I'm quietly confident that I can manage this now so we will see how it goes. I've been on my DMP for for four years now and it's never going to end so I need to reduce my payments if I want to be able to afford to live 🤷♀️Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203
