hopefully you’ll find something for your parents. I remember when my nana had dementia we bought her one thing from when she was younger and she remembered it. XOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1200 -

foxgloves said:Me too. I'm not even a dog person, but have found myself thinking about doggy B a lot because I like hearing about her choosing her walk & heading off with OBL. And as a long-time cat owner, I know all about the dread of that horrible final decision.
Hope she's continuing to pick up.

I am pleased to say that B is still doing well, she has eaten a small amount ( can definitely manage dog treats 😀) and I've just taken her for a very slow wander up the road to the green where she was able to go to the loo. She has been weeing in the garden but not pooing but she's done that now so that's a good sign. I'm sitting on the settee and she just managed to get up to sit next to me 🙀 she is ok going up the stairs but not coming down so we are carrying her down for now. Hopefully she will carry on getting better now, she is recovering faster than I thought she would be able to that's for sure.
Im not feeling great today and I think it's probably the stress of the last few days catching up with me so I'm just pottering round at home. I'm still feeling sick from having Covid and I remember last time I lost my appetite for several weeks after I got over the initial infection. I got an email yesterday saying I'm eligible for anti viral treatment should I get Covid due to having an auto immune condition but it's too late now 🙄 if I wasn't feeling queasy I would actually feel good so it's just bad timing. Yesterday I ran across the car park to the shop when we left the vets and I haven't been able to do that for a long time so my body is responding well to the steroids.
There has also been a critical incident declared in Devon due to the amount of strep A and other respiratory infections that are going round so I'm glad I'm off this week. I do have to go shopping tomorrow but will wear a mask and gel my hands while I'm out. Then I just have to visit mum and dad and I'm not going anywhere until Christmas Day .
I ordered mum and dad a word search book each last night which will arrive on the 22nd. They both love doing word searches and I wanted them to have something to keep them busy. So they have a book each to read ,a puzzle book each ( Dads is Dementia friendly ) and I'm going to buy them a big box of chocolates to share ( probably Thornton's ) my mum loves gardening but can't do a lot now so I've got her a wordsearch that is all about gardening, plants and flowers. I got Dad a positive affirmations one that is meant to cheer people up. He is normally quite cynical but nowadays seems to see the brighter side of life so I thought he might like it 😊The book I've bought him is all about interesting facts and trivia from when he grew up,he likes things like that and it's in bite size pieces of info so I think he will be ok with itOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1203 -
So glad your dog is getting better. Our cars are still pretty young, but I am already dreading them leaving us. They will leave such a big hole. They have completely wormed their way into the family in a way I never imagined.
I hope B continues to get better. It all sounds promising.Debt free Feb 2021 🎉2 -
Really really pleased about B ☺️ I was so worried for you. My dog is 11 in March, she’s a Jack Russell and they tend to be pretty long lived, but I can’t bear the thought of the day she will no longer be here. I know I’ll be heartbroken.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -
So glad your dog is starting to recover. My parents dog was unable to manage stairs in the last few years of her life and my dad used to carry her up and down every day. She still had a good life I think.Making the debt go down and savings go up

What lovely present choices for your parents! It brought back memories of buying for my parents, especially the book that will remind your Dad of familiar things: my Dad had something similar. I also remember getting a flowery colouring book for mum (RHS, I think) as she loved gardens.
