Oh thank goodness for that. You must be so relieved. Hopefully she’ll start picking up soon.

  • Oh that's positive news! Poor little B, I hope she soon feels better.
She is so much better today than she was yesterday. The vet I saw yesterday didnt hold out much hope for her improving at all so fingers crossed she continues to get better 😊

I'm very relieved,I really thought we would be saying goodbye today after seeing the vet yesterday. I can't believe how much she has improved over the day. She has now been out on the garden for a wee and eaten a bit of food so all good signs 🎉🎉

I'm sure something similar happened to Winter Warrior's dog earlier this year and he recovered.

  • B has been for a wobble round the house downstairs and then went out in the garden for a wee. She managed the back doorstep but had to lean against my big plant pot to do the wee, she has also eaten a pouch of dog food so that's good and she has had a drink.

We just need to keep an eye on her so she doesn't fall an injure herself. She has gone back to sleep now after her busy day 😊

DD and myself are so relieved, it was such an emotional day yesterday I feel worn out but hopefully I will get some sleep tonight. I was awake most of the night keeping an eye on B because she kept trying to get out of bed and falling down in random spots.

The house has been cleaned and tidied and I just need to plan how I'm going to get the last bits of my shopping now. B can't be left on her own for a while so I will have to go on my own. I'm going to get everything out later that I've bought so far and make a plan for what I still need to buy. It's mainly the ingredients for the nut roast and we need some more after eight mints because we stress ate a lot of the box I already had yesterday 😀

DD 1 came and took me to the vet again today, she was actually supposed to be at work but can work from home, she told her boss ( who is a massive dog lover) what had happened and she agreed to let her pop out and take me which was very kind of her. DD1 has also offered to come and sit with B if she still can't get around when I go back work on the 27th as she can bring her laptop and work from my house. It can take several weeks for dogs to recover from this so I'm glad we have a plan and I am also very glad I booked this week off, how lucky was that 😊

I was going to try to meet my friend for coffee but would have had to cancel but she has just messaged me to say her and her husband have both got Covid so she can't meet anyway . I am happy not to have any plans this week apart from a shopping trip. I also still need to try and find something for my mum and dad . I'm not going to see them until Christmas Eve so have until then to sort something out. I have got them a book each so far

Sending best wishes for your dog (and you) that she is better today. I had to make the decision for mine earlier this year and have a good idea of how you are feeling xx
Awww I am sorry to hear that, it's a horrible decision to have to make. I had to have my previous dog PTS and was so conflicted at the time that I probably left it a bit longer than I should have so then felt guilty about that too xx

  • Glad B is better. I bet it is such a relief.
hopefully you’ll find something for your parents. I remember when my nana had dementia we bought her one thing from when she was younger and she remembered it. X

Awww…..poor little dog. I was reading with bated breath, hoping you didn’t have to make the decision. I’m so pleased she’s on the mend.

Me too. I'm not even a dog person, but have found myself thinking about doggy B a lot because I like hearing about her choosing her walk & heading off with OBL. And as a long-time cat owner, I know all about the dread of that horrible final decision.
Hope she's continuing to pick up.
