I can sense how happy you are in the way you write, so very pleased for you. I can hear the smile in your words 😊
A while ago I said I'd look out some dementia links here is the bookcase analogy one. Although the colleague who did the presentation sent me the short film I referred to, it appears you can only access it externally if you belong to an organisation. I've tried searching for it but the site wants you to register as an organisation. You may have more luck than I did, it's called Understanding Dementia and is by Dementia Friends. Hope this is useful anyway.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1 -

I think one of the hardest parts of dementia is when you visit & watch this intelligent person you are visiting almost daily struggling to figure out who you are - again.

Today I've been and done my last lost of Christmas food shopping. I got a taxi back because I wouldn't have been able to carry it all on the bus. I didn't go mad but there were some heavy bottles. I am not buying any more food now but I did come home and discover that we don't have any wrapping paper 😫I thought I had a massive roll left from last year but I can only find off cuts so we must have used it. I will have to pop into town and get some on Friday.
Im planning on staying at home all day tomorrow to get some jobs done. I've got ironing to do that I keep putting off 🙄it's not much so best to get it done ASAP before it turns into something bigger.
B hasn't had as good a day today. She is still doing well physically but she keeps shaking😟 she was shaking so badly earlier we could hear her teeth chattering. She has always been a very anxious dog so will shake if anyone raises their voice even if it's in an excited way.
She has always gotten anxious if we go out and lately has taken to following me around the house. Today she started shaking when I put my coat on to go shopping but I'm not sure if she thought I was taking her to the vet.
I've got her in my room with me and she was shaking when she laid down 😟 she has settled and gone to sleep now. I think I will see how she is tomorrow and then phone the vet for advice if she is still doing it. He did say her eyesight isn't as good as it was and she does seem to be staring into space a lot today. I know she is probably still very dizzy as that can take weeks to go away but I don't like to think she is distressed. We did also get some weak tail wags today which is good because her tail was just hanging down and wouldn't move. Today was also her first day without any anti emetics so she might be feeling sick too 😟 poor old B.

B had a better day today which was reassuring. I watched some YouTube videos about the problem she has and it seems it's quite common for the dogs to be anxious especially if they were anxious before so at least I know it's normal. She got excited for her tea tonight and tried to jump up so that's an improvement 😊
I had to go into town today because we had run out of wrapping paper and labels,I thought I had a big roll left but we must have used it up last year 🙄 I walked in which was nice but I did get a bit shakey so ended up going to M&S for a cheese scone and a hot chocolate, I bought a luxury hot chocolate thinking it would just be topped with spray cream but it's chocolate cream with sauce and sprinkles, it tasted like fudge cake 😍
I came home and wrapped all my presents so I am now done. Tomorrow I am popping up to mum and dads to drop off their presents and then I'm coming home to relax for the rest of the day.
DD1 messaged earlier to chat about Christmas Day and poor SIL has had flu all week, he is out of bed now but still not feeling great. He is in charge of Christmas dinner so I think we will all have to muck in and help. I hope he isn't still infectious by Sunday because I really don't want to catch flu 😟.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1202 -
You definitely don't need to be catching flu, OBL. I think most things are more infectious towards the beginning, so hopefully as he's into his 2nd week, you will escape. Can understand you feeling worried about it & I don't blame you. Flu is awful.
That hot chocolate sounds like it was a nice festive treat!
