Happy birthday! What a beautiful day for it, at least it is here and hopefully for you, too. Enjoy your takeaway.
It was raining 😀 I have an ongoing joke that it always rains on my birthday but the last couple of years have been really hot except for yesterday 😀
Oh dear, that wasn't supposed to happen!

I'm glad you were feeling better and were able to have your feast - that does sound a nice eatery!

Ooh, five days unsupervised! What fun :D
I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I don't think that you're selfish at all. Small children are very tiring.

I’m like you, had my kids young, so another one here thinks you’re not being selfish.

I don't think your selfish either , they are very tiring small children. I love my grandkids and they are very good, but always ready to hand them back at the end of the day.

I do like spending time with them just not having to look after them. My mum didn't look after mine, I just had to get on with it but it's sort of expected nowadays which isn't fair

I was definitely ready to hand him back 😀my best friend loves having her grandchildren and kept telling me  I would love it too, she doesn't understand that it's not my favourite thing to do, I prefer animals to people and would rather babysit their dog 😂😂

I totally agree with you.  When I got married everyone kept asking when are you going to have children.  My mother never ever did.  Once he was 5 it was different, he was a reasonable, reasoning child so that was okay.  She wasn't that keen on us when we were babies either.  Years later shwe did actually describe bringing us up properly as being a duty!
