I agree with you totally on the fruit as puddings! Dates belong in sticky toffee puddings! X

Do you like pineapple - griddle some with a sprinkle of cinnamon and serve with coconut yoghurt.
You are doing really well. I too am 5 ft and my weight was always between 7and a half stone and 7 stone 12 lb in my younger days.  I was virtually 10 and a half stone - to some it doesn’t seem much but I’m a tiny frame with joint problems and felt ever extra ounce. I’m just over 9 stone now and want to get below 8 and a half stone.....I doubt I’ll ever see a weight starting with 7 again. I’ve really struggled these last few weeks.....my meals are fine but I’m snacks on all sorts of rubbish 😒 I think a lot is stress eating as I think work is on my mind....but it’s just one excuse after another....I need to get a grip 🤞👍
I love pineapple so will try this, I can't eat fresh pineapple because it causes an allergic reaction but I can have tinned,I could actually live on pineapple I love it so much 😊

I think as we get older we also look better with a bit of padding, I looked great at 7st 3 when I was in my early 20s, once I got into my late 30s 8st suited me better then 40s I looked better at 9 and a half stone, I think that's my optimum weight for feeling healthy and not looking like I've been ill 😀

  • Not sure if there's something about this thread but I'm yet another who's fractionally over 5' and hasn't been eating 'properly' recently.

I did get down to below 8 stone once but had to put weight on again as it was clearly wrong for me - I felt I was all ribs! Most uncomfortable. Now I'm aiming to be back to about eight and half but am inching up again. :(
I look ill at anything below 9st, when I got to my first ever goal weight of 7st 13lbs  all the comments were that I looked tired, it was in the winter though and I was very anaemic at the time, I went up to 8st 3 by the summer and got a tan which looked better but when I look at photos of that time I think I look too thin. I was a fitness fanatic then too, I used to go to the gym nearly everyday and if I wasn't at the gym I would be out running. When I got ill I had to stop running and going to the gym and Ive struggled ever since, I was so ill then though I was having trouble even walking so the gym was of the question,I rejoined in a fit of anger a couple of years ago and decided to just power through and I made myself quite ill with a massive pain flare that lasted for months
I would love to get back to my 9 st 10 lbs weight but will be grateful to get back to 10 st within the limitations I've got
Helping out the stables helped keep my weight in check but sadly it was too much for my body. I am going to concentrate on walking as much as possible to see if that helps at all, I would love to run again but I'm not sure that would be a good idea

Haha 100% agree re fruit not being a substitute for cakes lol sort of thing my wife says 'eat a banana' yeah 100 not going to satisfy my craving for a slice of victoria sponge so not gonna bother mate. Seriously well done will say 100% gets easier as time passes the cravings probably will still be there but more manageable / less frequent.
Unless it's a banana cake then I'm not interested 😀😀 I will keep plodding on thanks 😊

The trouble with dieting and I have many times yes the cravings get less but you cant just give up food like you can cigarettes or similar so  there is constant temptation especially if you have to prepare meals as well.
This is it, it's not something you can avoid, I need a chef to come in everyday to cook me something so I don't have to go in the kitchen. This 30 day challenge is just to see if I can actually do it, I tell myself I can't live without the junk but that's quite blatantly not true. I want to learn that treats are good in moderation and are not needed everyday 😊

  • Woke up to a lovely sunny day today😀I decided I don't need to go into town until Wednesday so I took B for a lovely walk through the fields, it felt so good to feel the sun on my face.
I don't have any plans for today apart from the sorting the 🐓🐓. I'm sitting here with the dog and two cats all snoring away in various places I did all my housework over the weekend so everywhere looks tidy and dust free for five minutes, I've kept up with my ironing so none of that to do🎉🎉 I have of course got some washing on the go ( I don't understand how two people make so much washing )
Im waiting with bated breath to see what BoJos plan looks like when he announces it tonight, of course the news channels have already speculated on  most of it. All I care about is when can I go riding again and when can I get a bl**dy haircut, my hair looks like it did in the 70s when I was 10/11😀
I also don't have to cook much today because we will finish off the chicken and leek pie for tea,I just need to do some veg to go with it
Today will also be a NSD 🎉🎉

I would love a personal chef even occasionally. I loathe cooking mainly because the list of stuff dh wont eat is far longer than the stuff he will eat. Strange thing is when he went to China a few years ago he ate all sorts of stuff including jellyfish and ducks feet. When we both went I tried the jellyfish but was not impressed at all. Opted out of the ducks feet. Now I cant even get him to eat rice or noodles. He doesnt touch cakes, biscuits, chocolate but does get through a fair number of packets of crisps.
