My journey to a debt free life

Hi thanks for reading along, I used to use the moisturisers with fake tan in then forgot about them, guess what I'm buying next week 😀thanks for the suggestion. I do always look a bit washed out in the winter and it doesn't help that I'm quite often anaemic so that makes me even paler,I was looking in the mirror and I do have some shadows under my eyes 😟 so I will definitely give it a go 😊LondonLiz said:Hi OBL, I've read your diary for ages and when I saw the comments from your mum and friends about you still looking a bit ill I thought I'd pop in with a suggestion. Which is to use that moisturiser with a bit of fake tan in it. You only have to use it every few days and it really does give a little bit of a glow and brighten the complexion up.I am naturally very fair with freckles and in winter I often look very washed out, with the freckles standing out more and making my underlying skin tone looking even paler. If I ever get comments about looking a bit tired I immediately use the moisturiser a bit more frequently and the next time I see people they say ' oh you're looking much better'! I use the D*ve one which isn't expensive and oK for sensitive skin, but there are loads out there.Hope you are feeling better and have a relaxing few days off work.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -

It's definitely better for the kids and now I've thought about it I'm looking forward to it, like you say the kids can play with their presents and will have a nap,the youngest wouldn't nap at my house last time and it put DD on edge because he was really cranky through tiredness, he naps here now but on the settee and it has to be silent or he wakes up, not ideal for Christmas Day as his older brother will be excited so we won't be able to keep him quiet 😀milann said:I don’t blame dd wanting you to go to her. All the children will want to do is play in their own house with the toys Father Christmas brought - like you said they can nap in their own rooms giving the grown ups a bit of time together. Bet you’ll have a lovely day together 🎄Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
OBL we travelled to my mil once when mine were younger - we went on the bus with 2 little ones. All they wanted to do was play with their toys at home. They were cranky and tired because they’d been up early and were excited. It was one of the worse days ever.....I said never again - we’d go any other day over Christmas but not Christmas Day......I was never asked at any point over Christmas again - we always made sure we went around to see them but the hump was definitely taken because I wouldn’t go on that Christmas Day. It was complicated - they never came to us ! Hence I’m more than happy to go to my dds and play with the children.January spends - £587.583

Glad you had a nice day at work OBL but
to the consultant who normally shouts at you. No excuse for that. It might be easier for you to go to your DD as it will save you on the cooking and a lot of shopping. We are going to my DD2 this year as they have 2 small children and it is easier if they are at home. The following year we will be at home though as they alternate Christmas day between us and my SILs parents so just us and DD1.

Thanks I will check it out,I used to use a tinted moisturiser years ago that was more like a light foundation, that was good but I can't remember what it was nowSun_Addict said:Dove do a gradual tan face cream that’s very good.Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8942 -
When mine were little it was taken for granted that we would go to my mum and dads on Christmas Day, they have never been to me for Christmas despite being asked, I think my mum says no because she doesn't want me to spend the money, she's not keen on Christmas now and finds it all a bit too noisy and chaoticmilann said:OBL we travelled to my mil once when mine were younger - we went on the bus with 2 little ones. Thanks, I put up with it from him but last week I was going to make a complaint, the only reason I didn't was because he was really nice to me when he was leaving to go home so I felt bad 🙄 I've cut him some slack up until now because he is very busy in a stressful job ( cardiologist ) and has just gone through a divorce, he is also a bit of a technophobe so the new computer system hasn't gone down well, he was on his last chance this week but wasn't there so lives to fight another day 😀enthusiasticsaver said:Glad you had a nice day at work OBL but

We always alternate Christmas Day and Boxing Day so next year DD will go to her in-laws on Christmas Day and come to me on Boxing Day,we have to alternate anyway because I always work either Christmas Day or Boxing Day every year, I think I've had them both off twice in the last 28 years 😊Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8945 -
Well the first day of my holiday has been nice and relaxing, I've done some knitting and reading and that's about it, DD made a lovely apple crumble earlier 😍😍and we talked ourselves out of getting a takeaway she made us a big bowl of cheesy chips each for tea, neither of us fancied anything apart from some sort of junk food so cheesy chips it was. There was a knock on the door earlier and I was excited to find out it was my shower curtain rail that I ordered the other day, it's very good quality and much sturdier than the old one, it also wont keep collapsing every five minutes either, it was so nice to have a shower with a curtain, I felt really exposed before and was fed up of having to be careful not to spray water everywhere ,it also keeps the steam in the shower rather than all over the bathroom so is a bit warmer

Lovely to have a decent chunk of time off work especially this time of year when you can get a head start on Christmas. Enjoy
