My journey to a debt free life

Another day at work done. I was a bit worried about today because the hospital is so busy and the staff are dropping like flies so I thought I might end up being sent somewhere else but that didn't happen which was a relief. We are certainly getting hit harder in the southwest now more than we did in the first wave so staff moral is at an all time low I think 😟 can't do anything about it though sadly. We have all been given self testing kits so we can test ourselves twice a week before work but I am exempt for 90 days because I've had a positive PCR test ,if I tested myself now it would likely still be a positive result because the virus is still in my body even though it's not active
As for Christmas I am waiting to see what DD1 says about it. They are due to come to me on Christmas Day this year which would be allowed but I know my son in law will also want to go to his mum and dads on Boxing Day however his sister will also be there so that's too many families mixing. His mum was shielding in the first wave because she is vulnerable so I'm not sure what they will decide to do, knowing my DD and son in law they will just come here and go there as well and I won't know any different 😟Original Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,736 Owed = £10,8943 -
At least if they come to you first you have no responsibility for what they do after. I must say I do not worry about my actions but other peoples can be a bit of a pain/worry. I don't even get out of the car without a mask on. My friend has been heard to tell a potential customer to go away (polilte translation obviously) if they don't obey the rules, he bolted the gate on one guy, he was absolutely gobsmacked. So whilst it is a minor concern it is not as much as his son whose partner works in healthcare & he is not one who normally gives a damn about pretty much anything. Certainly not worried about friend's daughter & family who show up fully masked or his step son & his family who are mostly trying to shield her parents & would not put him at risk anyway & so would not put me at risk either. But I certainly feel an isolationist Christmas coming on & as for New Year, batten down the hatches.

Milann’s emergency turkey put me in mind of Margo’s spare goose in the Christmas edition of The Good Life 😂I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

SA it’s a standing joke in our house.....I get a small emergency turkey every year. We’ve gone to dd every year for the last 10 years.....I’ve images of bad weather or as one year a car that let us down last minute - luckily the AA sorted it quickly. I need to know I have enough stuff in to magic up a Christmas Day if needs be. Funnily enough nobody is laughing this year when I suggested it 😂😂😂😳😳😂😂😂January spends - £587.583

OBL I’m sorry to hear staff are dropping like flies. They really are very worrying times.January spends - £587.582

I love it - that programme will definitely help a lot of us through hard times!Sun_Addict said:Milann’s emergency turkey put me in mind of Margo’s spare goose in the Christmas edition of The Good Life 😂
The talk of emergency turkeys has made me think: even if there are only three of us for Christmas dinner - and I've asked that Auntie takes extra care for the two weeks before she comes - it makes sense to buy as much as possible well in advance. Shops are always busier at the last minute, increasing the risk of Covid. Also, if one of us gets it or we have to isolate, Christmas food shopping will be rather a problem. Mind you if we were both isolating come Christmas, Auntie couldn't come anyway.
Dreaming of turning my garden into a smallholding now and having a Tom and Barbara-style Christmas... ("Why is the ooh-ah bird so called?")I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

That's true,I'm just leaving it up to them now, I'm done worrying about it to be honest, if my son in law wants to put his mum at risk it's up to him, I won't be feeling guilty about it that's for surebadmemory said:At least if they come to you first you have no responsibility for what they do after. Thanks Milann, I've never known so many people be off sick at one time and we are really busy too so that isn't helping 😟I'm dreading January and February now the government have given in over Christmasmilann said:OBL I’m sorry to hear staff are dropping like flies. I didn't even think of the chance of being ill and being able to buy our Christmas food,I'm hoping I've had my quota of illness for this year though. I'm on holiday next week so I'm planning on buying as much as I can thenCherryfudge said:
